Interesting that people don't photograph the commonplace and then there's no record of it when the Govt or vandals have destroyed it.

"The commonplace" seems like a good description of this idea!

Now I really start to dig the idea behind that thread.
Still, the big question is, how to take a picture of a "commonplace" to keep it common. Because taking a picture of anything is a way of making it special.

I just noted that in my previous post ( 56) I posted the wrong photo! A photo I had already posted, sorry!

Now, this one:

How about things you see everyday and never photograph?

Years ago I did a series taken as I walked from St Pancras to the City as I did every day of the year (unless it was raining). Nothing special but you should see the changes. I also did one of us doing the weekly shopping, and so on...

These two are so much along the lines of "American Surfaces" that if I didn't know better, you could tell me they were from the book of that title by Shore. (Of course, the first one is in Mexico. But that's still North America!)

Wow, thanks Rob! Taken with Nikon FE, Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 or 35/2.8 (can't remember which), PL filter
Cheers,
