Ken Ford said:Hmmm, must be on the CNW - but where?
Ken that is the new College Avenue station. Here is a better view, with nicer sky (another lightbox copy - the original slide is razor sharp)

This one might be considered cheating since I took it with my N90S:

Some pictures from a weekend trip about a year ago. All pics made on Agfa Scala, Leica M7, 2/35 Cron ASPH, scanned on a crappy flatbed scanner.

Where it began.
Where it began.
When I was very young I would stand here and hope for a rare steam train to pass under and envelope me in steam. It's where I caught the travel bug and the first of my journeys around the world started from the platform on the left.

Could be. Certainly well preserved if it is.

The german locos can be much more photogenic than the brit ones. The UK are too "clean" I like to see all the pipework, rods etc.

Biomed, seems to have been some concern with noise attenuation even back then! That's quite an exhaust system..

pipal said:Yes, Nick! You are right. I am not a car expert and I searched the net to find what is it. I could find a lot alfa spider pictures which are very similar, but still something told me, that I am wrong. I even asked my friend who is a car hobbyist and he told me, that this might be alfa. But it is a Triumph! Thanks a lot! My little mystery is solved...![]()
Pipal,
Looks to me like a pre-1973 1500cc with export headlamps (I worked at Triumph from 1974 to 1979), bicbw.

Well-known
That's the Spuyten Dyvil train bridge on the left, open for boat traffic, Canada Goose in the foreground, Metro North train leaving the Spuyten Dyvil station across the channel, and the Henry Hudson Bridge on the right. Camera is facing north from the Manhattan side.
