"How do you get your unique signature colors, Peter?"

Raid I think these photos were post processed in Nik Analog Efex. Typically I process in Lightroom for the basics - contrast, highlight/shadows adjustment, saturation etc. Then if I wish to take it further I will drop into Nik software (I have linked these to LR so they run as plug ins) and mess about. It is largely experimental and I must admit I sometimes go too far in the interest of experimenting but in general I like the colors to be still strong but slightly muted with an emphasis on shadows and light. All of the presets in Analog Efex are vastly overdone and not terribly attractive so it is a matter of adjusting them and finding your own path each time. In any event I find that a preset applied to one photo will have a vastly different look when it is applied to another. Hence I usually let a specific image "find its own way".
 
Thank you for the detailed explanation, Peter. I knew it was a software use, and you have clarified it well. Your post processing gives your images a unique look.
