W/NW The Streets of Yokohama!

Maybe a long retired closet Kempeitai, this one. Means business, not to be crossed or trifled with. Old old Japanese. There once was so many of them. Now mostly gone. Or staying home and watching YouTube videos on harakiri...

Always the gals are much nicer to look at, but the older folks have a certain - whatever. The dignity of age and much life experience, maybe. It shows in their faces.

Super good image as always.

DownUnder, as always your observations and comments are a treat to read. I believe that every face is interesting, and every face can tell a story. Weather the story is the truth or a figment of one's imagination doesn't really matter; imagination is a wonderful thing!

All the best,
Mike

Okay, let's play. What brand of camera is she using?

Gorgeous colors in this image, BTW. I struggle and sweat to get any colors near yours with my Xpro2.

DownUnder, here's a closer look at her camera for you.

Also, for color photography I usually shoot JPEGs using the "PRO Neg. Hi" film simulation.

Per Fujifilm: PRO Neg. Hi boosts contrast, creating shadows even in flat light, making it easier for creating outdoor portraits or other images in natural light where it is difficult to adjust the lighting. Once you understand the characteristics you can use PRO Neg. Hi, for example, for street photography in bright sunshine to take advantage of its characteristic contrast and highlights that tend to hold detail well.

All the best,
Mike

Pro Neg. Hi. Hm. Who wudda thunk it? Here I've been using the slide simulations all along, with thinking basically from my long ago film days when slide film meant enhanced colors.

I will give it a try later today as this week I'm in Malaysia, doing more street walking (in the photo sense) than usual. With my Xpro2 and the 18 2.0 as I wanted to live dangerously.

I've also set the colors to +3. All this is my desperate effort to get Fuji colors to look more like Nikon gives me as I've come to expect it to, this is my one and only gripe with the Fujis which otherwise as a basically decent system and ergonomically fun to work with. The Fujinon lenses of course are superb optics.

Many thanks for this.
