It may not be completely safe, but it's easy to access the train yard where I live, especially if you are a wandering fool. "marcher arrant"!

I wonder if this train is on the tracks of the old Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisville or Monon railroad. The Monon was known for street running in a number of Indiana towns, including Michigan City.

Close.... It's the South Shore Line.

Plans are underway to eliminate the street trackage here, though, and replace it with a double-track mainline fully separated from automobile traffic. It will really change the area since they are going to close a bunch of street crossings, make some of them one-way and demolish quite a few houses and businesses. Good for commuters I suppose but progress always comes at a price and it will probably be tough on those who have to move.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Steve, for Flickr, it's easy. Click the share arrow icon at bottom right of your image, then select the BBCode of your choosing by image size, then paste that whole string in your message. That's all you need to do. Do a Preview Post to make sure it takes.

Beautiful image by the way. I will remove it here if you like. Just posting to help out.

This is the special train that brings people to Sakaiminato to visit the Mizuki Shigeru Road. The road is dedicated to the late artist and author Mizuki Shigeru.
