M5 has TTL light meter @$820

I got a beautifull Chrome M5 from KEH.com and yes it does have a TTL light meter. This is very much a match needle - you match the shuter speed needle against the aperature light reading needle. Very fast work flow.
Also the shutter speed dial overhangs the front of the camera just enough to let you change the shutter speed without taking your hand from the picture taking position, again very fast work flow.
The shutter speed's also show up in the .72 magnification viewfinder so you don't need to remove your eye from the viewfinder to read the shuter speeds or to make any changes. Very fast.
This is a modern camera.

Haven't had the joy of using the MP, but I love my M3 and have a dear affection for my m6ttl. I tend to lean more to the standard 50 and up, so wide angle isn't my gig.

However as much as my 35mm Lux and M6 (.72) are a wonderful match, I like the M3 viewfinder the best.

Maybe it's from shooting sports and weddings, but I prefer use two bodies/two focal lengths at a time whether they be film or digital. Much faster way of shooting. If it were my money I would buy two M6 bodies (.58 and .85)and put the funds into glass.
