Galgano: a sword was inserted into a rock in the 12th century. The sword was recently tested at a university for its age, and the results pointed to the twelfth century.
At the base of a hill, there is a church (San Galgano Abbey) without a roof, surrounded by vineyards. At the top of the hill, a small abbey (Rotonda at Montesiepi),has the sword that is stuck inside a rock. The story is that the priest (Catholic Saint) who founded the abbey is the one who placed the sword inside the rock.
