I'm curious as to how the small contax flash would be or if people are using bigger units with the g2, which kinda works against the small size thing 
I've got a Hexar AF with the small flash and was thinking of shooting some event type stuff with it, so I'll definitely be watching this thread for some images

Daniel, the TLA200 works pretty well and the low GN is not that much of a problem because the flash zooms manualy from 28 to 90mm.
The problem is it is very close to the lens and thus prone of red eyes and it takes very expensive CR2 batteries, the same the camera uses I.E. it is mostly my spare batterie holder
I mostly use a Contax TLA30 flash which is not too balanced on the camera but works with AA sized batteries.
It has full TTL support on the G2 and a tilting head, sometimes I wish I had swivel and 2nd curtain sync which the TLA360 can do, but that is much too expensive and much too big for my purposes, so the TLA200 has to do it.

So here we go, Contax G at a wedding. In this case a G2 with 28, 35, 45 and 90. Mostly shot the 45 outdoors.
This is HP5 at EI1600 which I still had in the camera from another shot in a bar:

Hopefully the BW400CN and Fuji C200 will come back from the lab tomorrow, then I have some 360 pictures to scan

Socke, have you looked at the TLA280? This is the little brother of the TLA360, should balance better on a G, and is a third the price. TLA280 takes 4 AA cells, and offers these features: 2nd curtain, tilt (but not swivel), 2nd flash tube for catchlights, power control by TTL or (rudimentary) manual setting, I have the 360, but prefer the smaller 280 with my Aria.Socke said:
