Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Major flash flooding in my area has left many arroyos unrecognizable. Now that the mud has dried, it might be a good time to visit and see what's new and different to shoot.

i walked around the forest in the rain looking for frogs to test out a digital macro lens - heard some but didn't find any

did see a few banana slugs and a salamander at least, but i am lacking most macro accessories beyond a lens :p

You could test the lens yourself instead of having the frogs do it. Besides, frogs are notoriously difficult to keep on task, and are only interested in pictures of bugs.

We took a drive to Petoskey, Michigan yesterday afternoon. Took along my Yashica Mat 124G with some Kodak Gold 200. A cold, brisk wind of Lake Michigan kept most folks inside, so no street photography. I took a few fall color pics, and that was that. Better than nothing I guess.

bold of you to assume i am not a frog :p there is no captcha required to make each post

some of them turned out ok, but i think i need a flash or macro light to make depth of field less shallow

alternative (or complement) is tripod + focus stacking which is probably not super practical for animals that move/run away (maybe works for slugs though)

This weekend I did what I always do when my wife is out exploring the world without me. I had what we call a "Mike & Charlie Beanie Weenie Weekend Party". Charlie was an old cat of ours. It became a bit of a joke that when my wife was out of town without me Charlie and I would have an unhealthy beer drinking junk-food eating party to celebrate her absents.

Anyway, this weekend my wife and her best friend are in Uzbekistan seeing the sights while I'm home enjoying popcorn and cheap red wine.

One that she sent me yesterday. Visiting a Mosque.

I had hoped to get over to Oysterville for some Halloween photos of this lovely small and anachronistic town. The weather is not cooperating as we have had serious rain, heavy at times. Not what makes for good walking about snapping photos of the pumpkins and skeletons. I will try later. Saturday is the Portland camera gathering which should be fun again. A good crowd fueled by gear, BS, caffeine and pastries. Works for me. Sunday? Rain? Hope no rain.

weekend at the seaside in Liguria (Italy),
I will put in my Domke f6 the m4+lux35v4 and the pentax mx+smc50, both of them freshly arrived from a CLA.

film: tri-x on Leica, kodak color 200 on Pentax

Here in Japan this weekend is a 3 day weekend. We're celebrating "Bunka no Hi" (Culture Day), which is always on November 3rd. This year, as it falls on a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on Monday, Nov. 4th; hence it's a 3 day weekend.

Hey, I don't make the rules I just enjoy them!

I love 3 day weekends, people go out and do stuff. There are always entertaining events all over the place. Life is good! And, when life is good, photography of life (aka street photography) is good! So, I'll be out and about.

All the best,
Mike

Enjoy your last trio to the town Pan! And after, some time later, we will enjoy with your pictures...

Good return to home.
Thank you Xabier, I am also looking forward to developing them, I think I got a few good ones. I will be posting them on the Eastern Europe thread.
