Think Different
There's a reception tonight at our local Arts Gallery, so I'll take pics for that. As for going outside, an arctic air mass has moved in, so high temps will be around 10 F. Think I'll just throw another log on the fire, and stay inside.

Sending three cameras to Crystal Camera Repair for some TLC.

I developed a roll of 35mm Delta 100 with Rodinal early this morning. The exposure and development look good with the negatives hanging in the shower. I will scan them this afternoon with the Valoi easy35 and make a contact page with ContactPage Pro.

I'm working through a roll of Ferrania P30 in my customized* Kodak Retina IIIcx ... sixteen exposures to go!
* Customized: This is a IIIc that I bought for $15 or some such ridiculous price because the light meter wasn't working and the top cover had been bashed in the center. It was otherwise working perfectly. I had the top cover, and other essential bits, replaced with one from a sacrificed IIc, eliminating the meter. So it's now essentially a Retina IIc with the Schneider Retina-Xenon 50mm f/2 lens. The camera feels a bit smaller than the IIIc due to the top cover and lack of meter, but is a trifle heavier than a standard IIc due to the faster lens.
Can't wait to see what the results on this test roll look like!

Just finished processing a roll of HP5+, which looks good.
But I realized my barely used bottle of Rapid Fixer is over a year old and must be discarded. Just not shooting enough film these days.

Binging a 1934 black Leica III into usefulness. Nothing much more serious than a ribbon change so far, and of course lots of internal cleaning. It’s not a beauty but it will have character when it lives.

I bought F90 recently (it was dirt cheap) - now trying to find this 85/1.8D at a reasonable price…

I was doing the same to a Leica II for a friend. I was looking at replacing the half-mirror, but after cleaning the internal surfaces it proved unnecessary as the contrast was still good.Binging a 1934 black Leica III into usefulness. Someone had incorrectly assembled the winding knob/stem to the body, misaligning a cut-out on a brass ring. That smoothing things out considerably after correcting the issue.
My friend will be happy.
I took an Ansco Memo out for a test-run with some Rollei Retro 80s over the weekend. After restoring it recently. It needed a new main-spring in the shutter.

Love the look! It must have been much work for you with much satisfaction!Spending time in the not so darkroom, making some Vandyke Brown prints from digital negatives. Like how this one came out, prints from the other negative had too many dust spots so going to reprint them this morning.

*Very* nice lens although it is a bit of a beast size-wise. Balances well on bigger cameras (i.e. F90, F4, F5) but not great on the F801s.I bought F90 recently (it was dirt cheap) - now trying to find this 85/1.8D at a reasonable price…
I took those two out to compare and see how the 105 behaves. The 85mm is great lens, that's for sure.

Taking my friend's freshly serviced Leica II with me on a hiking trip in the Ardennes this Saturday.
It has a post-war CZJ 50/1.5 Sonnar mounted on an unmarked Contax-to-LTM adapter, similar to a Cook&Perkins adapter.
