Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Shooting my cousins wedding tonight with my Leica m2 and Pentax me super. Hopefully get about 3-4 36exp rolls shot. Really like using the Pentax and almost prefer SLR focusing more now than with RF.

Oh, been cleaning a Nikon F2, adding seals, checking the meter and loading with film in anticipation of shooting a roll of Legacy Pro 400 tomorrow in the rain!:)

Tried chasing the crazy dog all around the house today with a couple of different cameras but gave up!:p

My brother emailed me yesterday that the area where I live in Cairo is safe. Still, after the quietness comes thunder as Pluto used to say (or was that someone else?).

[I made it up!]

Well, Saturday, my son-in-law gave me a nice Sony Handycam complete with a leather case and, I hate videocams. But, I accepted it. Took him home, played around with it, and sure enough, as he said it wasn't working. Cleaned it up, applied nicely scented Griot's leather care to the bag and thought about it.

Then, replaced the 2025 battery that has been in it forever, cleaned a bunch of contacts, etc., recharged the battery and gave it back to him. He was amazed it still worked! Good...now he can chase our grandsons around with a video cam and screw around with the tape and converting to digital and overloading the computer!:p

It was nice to be able to fix his camera (so simple a fix)... but nicer not to have to use one. I prefer still photography...

I'm moving in a few weeks and just ran out of XTOL and I don't want to mix a whole new 5L batch so I ordered some HC-110 and Rodinal equivalent from Freestyle. I'm going to try Tri-X in the HC-110 (dilution H after seeing Paul & others' excellent results) and Efke 25 and Plus-X in the Rodinal. It will be my first time ever using both these developers. Wish me luck.

I was down in the loop in Chicago at the noon NATO demonstration--you know, 2000 angry nurses flipping cars and spitting on cops. Well, OK, the 2000 nurses were there, but I made up the rest--contrary to predictions by the our bedwetting politicians, it was actually pretty quiet. The M Leicas were out in force, though. I guess I probably saw a dozen or more of them. So I know what some of you are doing this weekend. . . .

Strangely enough, I did not see a single other film Nikon there (I had two).

I am at work since Saturdays are not off days in Egypt.
Tonight I will be watching the Chelsea vs. Bayern Muenchen soccer finals with some German friends. Tomorrow, I may visit again old Cairo with a friend to explore the narrow walkways of Khan Khalili bazars.

Going to Petaluma to meet with a few other RFFrs in the SF Bay Area.
It's a 1950/60s American Graffiti revival day.

Going to try M9 , M6-monochrom in Plus-X mode and a Olympus E-M5.
All with fast 50mm efov lenses.

Ouch, what did your friends say about this result after a long lasting additional play time?

I made a boat trip on the lake of Zurich on Saturday. It was like starting the summer season. Tested a first roll Kodak Farbwelt 200. Curious how it will perform compared to Fujicolor C200. Or Kodak Ektar.

It was a good game, and either team could have won last night. The cheering 100+ men in the coffee shop, with the smoke from the water pipes and cigarettes have the game an extra nice atmosphere.

It is weekend again!
What are you up to?
Is any photography activity in sight for you?
I am still using the digital M 4/3 for snapshots in cairo

Ummm....tough week, so, resting and not going anywhere this weekend which means photo opportunities will be limited. I think it is a good time to look at re-doing my little home office/spare bedroom into an organized, business-like, camera-nut, film-crazy man cave or something.:p

I need help with this, so will start a thread to gather ideas.

Memorial Day weekend so lot's of events going on. Will probably shoot a few ceremonies taking place. Monday Thomasville has a ceremony at the NC Vietnam Memorial then a parade followed by events at Cushwa Stadium. General Patton's grandson is in town & Army skydiving teams are jumping so it will be a great event. I'll probably carry the Bessa R around & shoot some B&W.

Close-up street shots with my trusty Chinon and a 28mm , I really could use something that makes less of a bang , but I'm kinda starting to like it. I think my topic for the day will be hot girls.

Meeting up with some fellow RFFers in San Francisco today, including Francisco who is visiting from the Chicago area. I'll be toting the M5 and an FM3A loaded with Acros and TMAX 400.

Should be a great day. Enjoy the long weekend!
