Thanks so much veryone for letting me share. Because Nicole wants to keep this quiet for at least another week before some tests, I can't tell anyone here, and I'm bursting at the seams!

Living our lives backwards!
That's what I call it. My wife and I got married 10 years ago when I was 51 and she 41. Then, 5 years later we decided to adopt a little girl from China. She's now almost 7 years old and I can easily testify that it was the smartest thing I've done... ever. Having a child after "the hump" is really wonderful. Keeps you young... and on your toes!
Congratulations Keith (and to your wife as well!). Enjoy... it's LIFE, BIG TIME!!

Now you can tell your wife that all the photography stuff that you "invested on" will come to a real use soon
The next best thing after the baby is looking at his/her pictures again when they're older. Ah man! tear-jerker for sure.
Oh, where are my manners, CONGRATULATIONS, Nicole and Keith!

Thank so much Jamie and Will. I apreciate your comments. Nicole and I are getting in gear and getting very excited.
I was on the subway one afternoon many years ago, I was in my 20s then. Across from me sat a man in his mid 50's with his son, about 5, sitting on his lap. They looked so comfortable together. I remember thinking that if I ever have kids, that's when I want them, when I know who I am and am sure of what I can give. I guess in many ways, life really does give you what you want - and what you need.
