What 50’s to keep. What to sell?

True, but it`s just a little long. It was worth it to me because I liked it.

Anything with larger than 39mm for f2 RF lens is not a little. 🙂

Well, I don`t agree when it comes to 50mm lenses, but for 35mm, I agree. The 50mm Summarit 2.5 was tiny when I used it on my M9. Underrated lens IMO.

I agree. I have regretted selling lenses more than selling cameras. Now I keep the lenses even if I don't have a suitable body.

It’s funny, but I’ve never regretted. I guess as long as I have something that feels right and allows for great photos, then no stress. I can always re-buy. Maybe you guys have exotic gear though.

I have many old lenses of the same type, like Elmar 50mm f/3.5. Of the older ones, not two are the same. Not the same construction, not the same glass and not the same rendering.

I have two Summicron rigid 50mm lenses, no. 1567871 and no. 2142174. Totally different rendering.

I have two Summilux 35mm f/1.4 steel rim lenses, no. 2060691 and no. 1777220, also completely different.

I have two Summilux 50mm f/1.4 lenses, no. 1702441 and no. 1883472, not even nearly identical. So ...

Not as exotic as a Kinoptik Paris Apochromat I guess, but nice enough to keep even if they are only rarely used.

-The 50/1.1 7(f)Artisans lens second-hand isn't worth much after eBay fees and shipping. Give it to someone starting out as a gift. Or donate it to a photo school and get a tax write-off

-50 Elmar-M? hold on to it for a light travel/walkabout option.

-50 Zeiss Sonnar is a specialized optic, worthwhile to keep if you actually use it, otherwise let it go.

-The 50 Summarit and Plannar? I'd sell 'em both and get yourself a VM 1,2/50

You can always learn something from Erik. My Summilux was stolen. Never replaced it. It was big and heavy on the Leica and somehow I knew a new one would not be the same. I went to a black Summicron and was very pleased. Took over twenty years of happy use to discover on digital it back focussed by 2cm. I now have also the C Sonnar. That one lens transformed my attitude to lenses and photography. I would never let it go. And I love the little collapsible Elmar-M. So like most others I'd sell the Planar and the Summarit. But I do keep interested in that Summarit. It is very short from lens flange to filter ring....
