I think Thardy may have a point. It looks like your point of focus is past the subject. The little blond girl as a case - her hair and near eye are out of focus, however the hair on the far side and the background is sharp. Have you checked the focus on your camera? Or, are your eyes not as good as they might be? Or, are your not selectively focusing? Could be a combination of these things. I know when I had cataracks (can't spell!) I couldn't take a sharp photo (using my Nikon F). After lens implants, I can again focus a camera. Check your camera against a measured distance to see if the rangefinder is off.Thardy said:Some just look out of focus with the main subject blurry and the background sharp.

There may be other problems, but these are easy to check out. Your composition and subject matter are great - just need a little more snap!
