Schickele Mix. Peter Schickele is a hero of mine.

OK, now I know they pulled that show off the air here in Minneso-tah. I love that show! What time and what station?

I have a few of his CDs (well, "PDQ"); one of them: "The Short-Tempered Clavier and other dysfunctional works".

KPIG, of Freedom CA (near Gilroy in Monterey County, south of San Francisco) is the offspring of KFAT which in turn was the offspring of KMPX (San Francisco) which in turn was the offspring of KSAN ("the listener's fren" in the flowering of the Haight Ashbury).

KSAN and KMPX were LITERALLY the ancestors of "album rock."

Schickele Mix was recently dropped by WNYC here in New York, too.

Scroll to the bottom of this page at Peter's website for a possible explanation:

If only we could get all the Faux News fans to listen to NPR for just one week...

Thank you very much for the URL. I'll see if I can find a webcast of a station that carries the show. I stopped supporting my local NPR station since they dropped the show, btw (that's one of two reasons). I do listen to them; it's the only real radio out there, specially here in Clear Channel Land (talk about Orwellian titles).

I won't go into a rant about Faux News; let's not go into Bare and Fallaced discussions. ;)

No one has posted here in a while... Listening to Frank Sinatra (Fly Me To The Moon right now), very good in the mornings :D

right now,... sziami; valoperes rock , LOL
sziami is a kind of underground-alternative rock or stg like that band, producing good stuff since the eighties. The texts are very funny but almost all in hungarian. The newest album called 'valoperes rock' makes fun a bit of the 'lakodalmas rock' which is a 'style' cultivated at village weddings by 'rockstars' singing about their adventures with young ladies, mostly, or about how drunk they got at a place and how good friends they are and such, accompanied by very bad music. The expression 'lakodalmas rock' could be translated as 'wedding rock music', while the stuff i'm listening to is 'valoperes rock' that is stg like 'divorce trial rock music', the text goes on and on about the failures of a guy with women, etc.

Massive Attack, "Mezzanine"

Great album!

Like many people here my music taste varies enormously. I am currently listening to Rage Against The Machine (Battle for Los Angeles), Kate Bush (Aerial) and Roger Waters (Ca Ira).

Paco De Lucia and Ricardo Modrego duet. Right now Zorongo Gitano is the selection playing.

True masters, both of them.

Tom

And now I've got my player shuffling between Mezzanine, as someone mentioned above, "Dummy" by Portishead, and The Downward Spiral (Nine Inch Nails).

I could go on with this thread for ages.

a Muddy Waters bootleg, Live in Monthey 1976... the song at the moment is Hoochie Coochie Man. I really should have some cigar smoke hanging under the ceiling, but it's proably not good for my cameras... :D
