Our 2 1/2 year old daughter fell in love with Les Miserables when she came with us to see it (quiet and intense the whole time she was). She calls it "The Angry's Men's Dress Up". She asks for it often so that's what's on now.
Usually....Billie Holiday, Thelonius Monk, Mingus....

Now, that's one I haven't heard in a long while. It's interesting to hear it with "period" instruments, and the more "modern" instrumentation instead of the small string ensemble with organ. I think it is really a lot better heard with a Counter-Tenor (it would be a crime to have castrati singing). Pergolesi also knew his violin.
Nomade & Darkavenger: glad to see there are some Francis Cabrel fans here. He's a bit depressing at times, but his songs are beautiful. Want to hear something different, but not quite? I've mentioned it twice in this thread before (haven't heard it in a while): KYO, "Tout reste à faire"; also "Ce qu'on Voit", I think it's by Pascal Obispo.

I'm sorry to be so conservative. Or am I really?
When looking for a change I still have Vivaldi's Stabat Mater...
Heard Bowman long time ago on stage in Compiègne - he since joined the Dellers in my heart.
Mind you, countertenors Mark and Alfred Deller (father and son) both wore beards!

I saw DJ Tiesto last night. Having been a fan since the year 2000, it was a great time, for some reason I thought that I might never get to see him live since he doesnt come to the US that often. My ears are still ringing
