What are you listening to at the moment?

Neil Young - Like a Hurricane -gettin mentally prepared for the season......Robin
One of my favorite Neil Young songs!
But I have wide musical interests:
Siouxsie And The Banshees(LOUD!--good for headphones or the neighbors would be complaining!:D ) singles collection.

My brother made me a CD of some songs he thought I'd like.
Apparently, my folks found a couple of cassette tapes from way back when, thought the tapes were my brother's and gave them to him.
There are two and my bro. copied them to CD for me because they were mine with all my musical taste at 16 or 17:rolleyes: and he labeled them the same way I had labeled the tapes: "Seduction Mix" and "Gettin' Funky":rolleyes:
Not too horrible until I listened to some of them.
I solemnly swear that I do know better than to associate the Bay City Rollers with the word "Funky" in any other sense than "stinks!"
And I really can't figure out why I thought Canned Heat's "Bullfrog Blues" was seductive.
A laugh from the past except that he's threatening to use them as the sound track for my next birthday party.
I wonder if he remembers that I have a few of his teenage poetic masterpieces?:D

So...I was recalling a conversation with someone about Paul Simon's "Kodachrome", while I was downloading Beck's Odelay from the iTunes store (haven't bought too much music this way, but I can see the habit-forming aspects of it), and I got the warped idea of re-writing "Kodachrome" from a more...edgy perspective. Being up too late, getting over a bad cold, and having a few cold ones...well, there's my list of excuses...

There's a guy we've heard of
Who grabbed his cameras
Took off to places
That we hardly know

Throughout the country
Along the back roads
The sleepy townships
Is where he'd go

Keeping his tools
Strictly elemental
Two rangefinders
And some Kodachrome

Color so right
Not too bright or bland
Give the guy a hand

Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)
Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)
Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)
Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)

The PJs drive by
Seeking something to see
Toting mofo D1s
(Or were they 1Ds?)

They take a few snaps
By the side of the road
Grab a laptop later
And rush to upload

K's just wandering
about in a field
The pace so slow
The pictures so real

And the color's so right
All the light's so real
Goes past what you see
It's a thing you feel

Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)
Where it's at!
(I got two rangefinders and some Kodachrome)

...and so on.

Dedicated to KM-25, of course.

(Enough damage done here...off to bed)

I have just finished listening to the bleeping sound of Tri-X in DDX, with the FotoTimer program on my Palm !

This is unusual because usually I listen to HP5 - changing the soundtrack can be interesting ?

She has been a long time favorite of mine!
You might want to check out a woman named Maddy Prior and/or the band Steeleye Span. Similarly excellent in my opinion!

I have long been a fan of Maddy Prior and Steeleye Span,
another group started by one of Fairport's founders, Ashley Hutchings.
I was fortunate to see them perform live in a rare US appearance
at The Towne Crier Cafe upstate about 15 years ago. :)

OK, now I'm envious!
I have a half gig MP3 player loaded with most of what I own of Maddy/Steeleye and Sandy Denny--it 's a life saver at work.
How about Maria McKee?
