I need to change my vote. Again.

With the introduction of the new 16mm f/2.8, it is now firmly on my favorites list.

And if the amount of use shows favoritism, the 23/2, 35/2 and 50/2 remain on that list.

But I have no intention of getting rid of those I've listed previously. They're all just too damn good to give up.

My favorites are what I like to call the “Fantastic Four”

XF 18mm f2 lens (35mm format equivalent = 27mm)
XF 23mm f2 lens (35mm format equivalent = 35mm)
XF 35mm f2 lens (35mm format equivalent = 53mm)
XF 50mm f2 lens (35mm format equivalent = 76mm)

Any of those four mounted on my X-Pro2 and I’m going to have a good day. No other Fuji lenses need apply, I’m not hiring. Four and done!

Mike
I have the 18-55mm and can't rationalize the purchase of the four corresponding primes.

I guess it all boils down to “different strokes for different folks”.

I like primes. I like the challenge of going out for the day and shooting with a single focal length. If by chance I miss a great shot because I should have had a telephoto lens instead of a wide... so-be-it; it’s all in the game. I also like to spend the day with my Fuji camera set to one ISO (usually ISO 200) ; more challenge, more fun.

By-the-way, I guess I lied when I said “Four and done”. I recently bought the Fujinon XF 16mm f2.8 R WR lens and I’m having a lot of fun with it.

Anyway, each his own, what I do makes me happy.

All the best!
Mike

Only slightly off your point, Dogman:

I bought my 35 1.4 its very own XP2 so it would never to be unavailable.
The rest of the lenses have to share the other XP2. :)

Oh, and the small and excellent 27mm f 2.8 is welded to the small and excellent X E2.

27 and 16 2.8.
Don't want big lenses on a small body. If I did, I'd just use a FF camera and go with the better quality. Otherwise what's the point of shooting smaller formats?

Because there aren`t any FF cameras like the X-Pro3! and some of the bigger lenses are great...

I'm sure they are. But same size lenses are great on FF. Then you have the better FF sensor.

I like my Xpro3, but if I'm going to make it as big as a FF, will shoot FF.

And you are correct, no other kamwah like it.

I get that... but if I`m going to use a FF body shaped like an SLR...with big lenses... I may as well get a Fuji GFX-50R!

I truly get what you are saying... I`ve used FF Nikon, Leica, Canon, and Sony...while using Fuji... but my X-Pro body is my favorite and I`m a body first type of guy. Most lenses from any brand are great these days IMO.

Thing is those big lenses cut into the OVF which is another reason I don't want them.
The XP3 is so nice w the 27mm and there is zero lens in the VF!

how do the 35 f1.4 and the 35 f2 compare to each other ? i am considering to get to the fuji system and i cant decide which is better..

It's a toss-up for me. Most of the time I use the ƒ2 version for the size and speed and the solid feel. The ƒ1.4 version might have a slight edge in how it renders subjects (and, of course, one stop faster aperture), the ƒ2 version might be a tad sharper but in most cases I've found both lenses to be excellent.
