What black paint for Leica repaint?

seriously, the gun paint seems like a good option, but I am interested in the details, because I have a feeling that the devil's in them.
I have read somewhere that gun paint can also flake pretty bad if not applied following an almost religious attention.

I tried several times with Brownells, it requires expensive equipment, compressor, etc. and the finish wasn't all that good even after the practice...

Send me the top and bottom plates. I'm testing some new paint for glossiness and should have results soon.
