What Did Santa Bring You This Year? ~ Christmas 2010

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering, of those of you who were treated to gear from Santa, how did "he" know exactly what to buy for you?

Did you write him a letter at the North Pole?
Did you sit on his lap at the mall?
Did you drop hints with your significant other?
Are you married to Mr. Claus?
Are you married to Mrs. Claus (that last one would mean you that you are Mr. Claus and quite possibly "gifted" yourself, which after the long hard month you've put in, who could possibly deny you a nice gift)?
What does the tooth fairy usually leave under your pillow?

I know my wife would have tried, but I'm not sure I'd have wanted her to pick me out a "nice, user Summitar."

Maybe the question I should have asked was "how many of you who received something you were wishing for were surprised?"

Wife and myself get together to give each other a Blurb album consisting of family photos from the year just about to end.

Don't laugh.. it results in my ability to spend money on photography throughout the year. No small thing.

I just sent my wife a wish list of a bunch of stuff and let her decide which of it I got. Easy this time as I actually had a few new items on it. Used gear would be much harder to do this way.

* a new(er) car (after santa wrecked the old one)
* a new MacBook Pro (suspiciously paid for on my credit card)
* a new (to me) lens that's almost as old as I am
* a B+W filter for my 50mm lens
* an M8 battery & travel charger

Years ago, I caught Santa in a comprimising situation with one of his reindeer. Naturally I got photos, so every year I just mail him a print along with my list and Bingo. The stuff shows up.
This year he brought me the two excellent texts on learning to speak Mandarin that I wanted.
