Good Santa/Bad Santa. Lucky Deirdre. Until the credit card bill arrives. Which lens did Santa bring?

Santa brought me:

* a new(er) car (after santa wrecked the old one)
* a new MacBook Pro (suspiciously paid for on my credit card)
* a new (to me) lens that's almost as old as I am
* a B+W filter for my 50mm lens
* an M8 battery & travel charger

Plaubel Makiflex w/150mm auto-iris Schneider Xenar.

Plaubel Makiflex w/150mm auto-iris Schneider Xenar.

From German ebay, The Plaubel Makiflex with 150mm auto-iris Schneider Xenar, and a rare 9x9cm Plaubel back, that takes regular 4x5 filmholders (I'm using Linhof holders). Puts a 9x9cm square image onto a 4x5" sheet. Surprisingly portable and a hoot to work with. Most excellent.

Only camera I have ever seen with an odometer! This one has only been actuated 2500 times! My other auto Makiflex has been actuated 28,000 times. And this one has -good- fast speeds 🙄

I got some Fujichrome Velvia 50 film and a nice tripod for my cameras. Also my parents bought me a really nice photo album which has a map of the world as the cover. I'll put my colour landscape shots in it.

IMac 27", upgraded processor, 16 GB ram. Photo work just flies on it.

The old 24 was downgraded to e-mail, word processing, net surfing etc.

The last of the Microsoft OS machines are gone.

Morgan's 4x5 holder for Paterson tank processing, B + W #110 ND filter, Lindt chocolate bar and 125 grams of Marmite.

A Bronica ETRS with 75mm lens, 3 backs, WL finder, prism, etc. Still not sure if I want to keep it or not...I'd never even heard of it until yesterday morning when I opened it 🙂

As for what I bought myself...well, let's just say December has been a bad month for my wallet 🙂 Speed Graphic, Pentax 67, Polaroid SX-70....

I treated myself to two super cool items from HeavyStars, a summitar to 39mm filter adapter and a 40mm summicron-C hood and series 5.5 to 39mm filter adapter.
Now I can use both lenses on my M8.

My daughters gave me Life by Keith Richards and a squirt gun camera and said it was the only camera that I didn't have.
Yesterday was their day and they are happy.

I got what is to me, the best bag period, one I've wanted for a while. A tan Filson 232 (Medium Field Bag). One of the best things about it is that the Tenba Pro Digital 2 insert ($19 @ B+H), well basically it's like it was made just for this bag, it fits like a glove no exaggeration, and comes with 4 dividers so you can set it up any way you can imagine, along with the two front pockets and back pocket, there's tons of storage, in a nice sized package. I put my Domke mailman pad on it too. Of course the main draws are the fact the waxed rugged twill, that's basically bomb proof and will age amazingly, looks better the more it get's beat up, just like a Leica. My M6 is with Sherry, but my M3 fits perfect with the 50 1.5 Nokton on it, (nice and warm in there in the snow!), along with 10 rolls, a Weston Master V and Leicameter all in one slot with some room to spare, and theres an empty slot where my M6 would go. It's my first day out with it, just in time for the biggest snow storm we've has since i was a kid!! I'm home for the Holidays in Virginia Beach, and we already have at least 6-8in, for us who live on the beach that's huge, and supposed to get 12+! Had the Filson out shooting all morning in whiteout snow, with that and a Barbour on (it's great just worrying about shooting and keeping my front element clear of snow every 20 seconds haha), myself, the bag and it's contents are perfect, it passed that test like it was nothing!

Sorry for the ramble, even though I'm 27 I just feel like a kid who got the coolest new toy 🙂 For a bag freak, it's a big deal haha, I can get rid of all the others now.

Also got some Tri-X, some Orvis wool gloves, along with some bourbon and rum. Suffice it to say, everything I got will be used heavily today!🙂
