What did Santa bring you?

Unwrapped a carton of my favorite smokes and a 6 stack of Michelob,

Best Christmas Ever!

Oh, got some instax mini film too 😉

I wanted nothing, needed nothing, asked for nothing. I received:

  • Time to reflect, time to think.
  • A fine dinner on the Eve with my partner.
  • Joy in sharing cookies gifted to us by seven year old Luke next door.

These are truly riches that I am very thankful for.

Great joyful photo!

Santa's helper ordered me a Zonai 25mm f1.8 in Fuji x-mount that I hope is the bargain lens of the year.
I am most thankful for email, text messages, personal web pages that keep me close to family scattered over thousands of miles.

I got caught up on some much needed sleep. Like Godfrey said. I wanted nothing, I needed nothing, I asked for nothing.

...but I did receive some very nice gifts in the past month by a couple of fine RFF members. (Not to do with the give-a-way thread).

Just being a small part of such a wonderful group of people here, learning so much from all of you. & the ones I have been blessed to meet & feel accepted is all one can ask for.

Cheers, Greg

Santa brought me a 90 summicron M pre-asph to go on my M6. What a lovely combo!

Ordering used gear from the UK from inside the Eurozone has become more fun since the pound has gone down relative to the euro. Saved around 20%

Nothing photographic but looking forward to playing Blue & Lonesome CD by Rolling Stones.
Considering getting Fuji 18-55 or XE2, maybe even be both.

My own Macbook Pro, I don't have to share any more. A hand made windchime from my granddaughter, flashy argyle sox from one daughter, Christmas eve dinner with another granddaughter, Christmas morning breakfast from another daughter. Many children bring many joys.

The only thing I got that is remotely photographic is a brand new IPhone 7+ which has a much improved camera, especially compared to the IPhone 4 I've been using. Verizon had a special at Costco and I was able to get the phone for substantially less than the usual price.

For Christmas Eve, my photography friend treated me to a delicious dinner at a Japanese restaurant. Yum, yum!

And, last but not least, my oldest daughter's birthday is on Christmas, so I got her the usual two presents, one for her birthday and one for Christmas/Hanukkah.

It's mid-afternoon. Little son is napping after an exciting morning, my daughter is playing machi-koro with my wife.
I'm reading and fondling new toys: Pentax ESII + 50mm/1.4 refurbished by Eric Hendrickson, three books in the 1980's workshop series from Michael Freeman (Light, Image and Cameras and Lenses) and a new book called "The Film Photography Handbook" from RockyNook.
Also 5 rolls each of tri-x, tmax, hp5+ and delta 3200.
Shot Christmas morning with the new Pentax and Tmax. First roll, so I hope that the camera works. Nex-7 with Zeiss 24/1.8 was the second lens and body, just in case.
No visitors and no traveling today. Going across town to visit my sister tomorrow.
Second day of vacation and back to work on Jan 3. Looking forward to family time and using up a few rolls.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Michael.

Now explain this; wife gifted me a Lomo Biolam P5 microscope complete with a stereo head in its wooden box. I have absolutely no relation to biology. How did that woman came up with that?

Merry Christmas everyone!
