The temperature around Chicago is single digits, with wind chill much lower. Just wondering what you northerners do all winter for street shooting. Thanks.

As Simon said... wrap up warm and continue as usual (but with a lot more stops in coffe shops!).

ps. the hat I'm wearing in my avatar is worth it's weight in gold!

1. Stay in and listen to music.
2. Post Process photos taken during the summer
3. Attempt to go out and snap a few at a time

I just photograph closer to home during winter... outside of that, I just do as I usually would.

This winter and last winter have been quite brutal here in Stockholm. -15 and -20 are not uncommon temperatures to spot on the thermometer. I usually get a lot of shooting in during the winter months, but this winter and last seem a bit questionable... I mostly get my shooting done in the subway going to and from school, and on milder, non-windy days when I can wear thin gloves.

I LOVE shooting in the winter!

Good ski jacket, ear muffs, and gloves that at least let you work the advance lever, shutter, focus and such.

However (comma) I had planned on doing just that last Saturday, but the wind was so nasty that I just gave up on the idea ...

Last year we really didn't get much in the way of scenic snow, so I am hoping for some this year ...

We go skiing.

A very cold winter has come very early to Scandinavia with minus 15-20 degrees C common many places. A 'mild' evening right now in Oslo: Only minus 8 C - which is ideal for skiing. We have sun only six hours a day so the cameras are resting until the light conditions get better. That would be in late February.
