What gear are you lusting after at the moment?

Speaking of subjects, I need more models for studio portraiture. And I'm in no position, financially speaking to hire some. Besides, I'd rather spend money on gear.

Lusting after. . . M7/summicron. Contax T3. Linhof Technorama III 617. H2D-39 for my "portrait" interest.

But really, I am actually quite happy with my current gear, and would not spend any more on cameras if I suddenly came across a few thousand dollars. I'd more likely buy a laptop, get into a nice apartment, buy some nice furniture, etc.

I just bought the Canon SD700IS P&S digital. . . I was embarassed to buy it, but I am quite happy with it. Now I can take all kinds of loving pictures of my RF.

God save me if the unthinkable should happen. . . .

Let's see...
a 28/3.5 either CV or Canon/Serenar for the CL,
a Fuji GA645Zi,
a Super Graphic front standard to give the Anniversary real front movements,
Lots & lots & lots of GE 22 Flashbulbs so I can play WeeGee on State Street next Halloween,
And a daylight dev tank for 4x5.

It's not really all that much, is it

i said i might sell the hexar af and the 28/3.5...but that's about it.

i'd sell the m3 because it is superfluous to my needs but i really like it.
the cl is just plain fun and the zi is my 'real' system camera & lenses.

i might think about selling the zm 50/2 if i were to get the 50/1.5 and i would love to buy a black body zi but that would kill any & all plans for more lenses. but i have always liked having 2 of the same body.

too many choices and most definitely not enough money...

Some 50/1.5 Sonnar in LTM, preferably the Canon, or maybe a known good, accurately close focusing Jupiter-3

And a CV 75/2.5

As of right now (could change any second!) I am pretty satisfied with the camera stuff. So going against the strong digital love current out here, I am close to the "buy-it" button for an f/stop timer, courtesy of RH Designs. And a few boxes of Ilford paper. Finally I am getting close to the (almost) perfact darkroom. Oh yes, mock me for buying a computerized timer, oh yes... 😉

Gear I'm lusting after?
* Bessa R3a with side grip
* Summicron 50, Elmar 50, or maybe the Hexanon 50
* Ummm, that's it?
* No, wait! An 8x10 camera (I know, it's not RF, but you asked!).

I would sort of like a wide angle lens for my M3. If I understand correctly I think I am limited to a 35mm with "goggles" if I want to go this route. It must be a Leica lens.
Melanie, you can use any lens you feel like, as long as you don't mind an external viewfinder. If you insist on being able to view and focus at the same time, then yes, the 35 with goggles is the thing you need/want.

The Canon 50/1.5 and Nikkor 50/2 are both excellent lenses. I will pass on this tip. If looking for the Nikkor, look for a Tower body with the lens. The Tower body is a Nicca sold by Sears in the 1950s with the Nikkor lenses. I bought the kit for less than I was seeing the lens alone, and then decided to sell the body.

I agree. I am more comfortable with a 28mm or wider when using an external finder because the greater DOF allows for more accurate scale focusing, but you can use a 35 without much trouble once you get to using two finders.

I'd really love to get a new ZI, but I don't have any M mount lenses, so that's an expensive proposition. And using it solely with Leitz LTM glass... I don't know, it doesn't seem right. So my humble wish is: a new ZI in Contax RF mount.

I should have added that I would love a 40mm Summicron to go along with the CL I'm lusting after. But I figured that was just self-evident.
