I'm lusting after selling a lot of my surplus unused gear. I think I'm pretty well set, at least for the moment, on what I've got; although I must admit a 35/2 asph could tempt me.....oh, and maybe a luigi case......and i'm casting covetous eyes at the missus' x-pan.....and.........

Balance accurate to the 1/10th gram. Laboratory hotplate with magnetic stirrer. Digital thermometer accurate to 1/10th degree. PH meter. Densitometer. Microscope. Red safelight. A respirator and funds to buy more filters. A coating blade. A contact printing frame, and a jobo processor or even a simple combiplan tank.

And the CV 90mm. 😉

I would sort of like a wide angle lens for my M3. If I understand correctly I think I am limited to a 35mm with "goggles" if I want to go this route. It must be a Leica lens.

This is like wishing for unicorns, of course.

In more realistic territory I could use a tiny pocketable digital camera since neither Nikon I currently own fits that bill.

I don't need anything though. I can hardly complain about what I have.

I think you can get any Leitz 35mm lens for the M3, but you would need an external 35mm finder unless the lens is the one with goggles. There is nothing in the M3 that prevents accurate focusing and use of the rangefinder. It simply has no 35mm frame lines.

Erik, that is so dependant upon what you shoot that it isn't even funny. Knowing my style I know that for a wide angle lens, I can live with slow. Probably really slow. The lenses I'm looking at for my CL range from 3.5 to 4.5 to 6(!) so that's not much of an issue... to me. But do you intend to use it in some bar after midnight? If so, the 1.9 may well be worth the money. Myself? I'll be using a 50 rather than a 28 in those circumstances, as that's much closer to how I see that situation.

Decide what you want to be able to shoot. Then you can decide on what is necessary to make it happen.

No, I have one of those. Go for the Canon or Nikkor 50/1.4 over the LTM CZJ Sonnar Raid. The barrels are much better built and coatings are of a higher quality. Plus you pay a premium for the CZJ if you can find them.

I just won a Nikkor 85/2 with hood and all caps, very pretty looking, I can't wait!!!
