What happened to RFF ?? Maybe its me ?

I was at 2000+, but who is counting. The "important"statistics was my 8.45 daily posting average. It has been staying around this value for quite some time, even though I certainly was not targeting any daily averages. It just showed me that on the average, I have been posting eight times a day.

Maybe we will see some interesting changes at RFF. The $10 Leica Forum should be rather popular 🙂

I guess now that it is dead and buried, there will be no chance whatsoever to even hope that the old free and informal classifieds will be resurrected, revived, reborn or raised. too bad really.

there is hope...we talked about a new section, for hu, freebies, trades. it will be a taste of what was but we will still have the new classifieds as they work well and business is booming in there with lots of ads.

as i said last night, we have talked about some changes that hopefully will asnwer some of the needs expressed here.

they would have been implemented by now but jorge just moved and he doesn't have a hi speed connection yet and his computer kept timing out last night.
soon.

Make Joe Friday and Dsang post more - they're usually quite funny and bring most threads down to a level where we can all participate

Ban drinking whilst posting - it may ruin your keyboard.
well which do you want? more posts by me, or less drinking? it's one or the other

Jorge & Mods

You're the best! What other forum is there where there is such a genuine attempt to keep a diverse, ecclectic, opinionated (IMHO!) mob all happy, pretty much all at once?

That repsect & responsiveness really does represent the spirit of community. We will all have different preferences, but you tread a balanced line which many appreciate, and not all could emulate.

Thank you for taking the constructive comments expressed here on face value, and working to let them shape the site.

One thing I did think of is to try to raise everybody's awareness to the fact that this is a very international and cosmopolitan gathering. English is not the native language of all, and of those for whom it is, not everybody speaks the same dialect, nor shares the same idioms and slang. I have a feeling that misunderstandings sometimes arise and escalate from the misinterpretation of the written word.

That should be obvious, but I keep reading posts from certain americans who stubbornly persist that their words are the correct ones. And you know why? They are denied media from other countries, much unlike the rest of us.

This may be an international gathering but the rules and mentality of this forum are distinctly north-american.

HI,
AS THE NEW BOY I HOPE I DONT TALK OUT OF TURN.... although new to RFF it is refreshing as i mentioned in my first post on xpan forum.. other forums i could mention do nothing but criticise, not constructively, just rude.
I think you have a good thing going.
happy snapping
nick..wet in scotland!

I don't the changes caused these defections by valuable members....they left on their own accord due to battle-fatigue after bickering with other members. A little oversensitive I think....but it was their decision. But if there's a lesson here it's forget the swansongs....just leave for a while and don't burn any bridges.....then you can come back anytime without losing face.
I agree the forum isn't quite as interesting without these strong personalities, but still way better than anywhere else, and I'm sure the departees must feel a tinge of regret once in a while.

Wow, I had no idea...here I naively thought that since I could pull up any news agency in the world with in seconds on my PC that I had full access. OK. Now I'm pissed. Where is the rest of this news hiding? Who has the key? I want answers and I want em now.

I'm gonna write a letter...

I don't have anything interesting to say.. I just thought I'd point out that this is my 1000th post.. for a second time on RFF.. how cool is that?
