That should be obvious, but I keep reading posts from certain americans who stubbornly persist that their words are the correct ones. And you know why? They are denied media from other countries, much unlike the rest of us.

This may be an international gathering but the rules and mentality of this forum are distinctly north-american.

Not true. We have word news nightly on PBS stations from Germany and the BBC. JimG

Apfelpfannekuchen ... now that's what I like to prepare Schwartzwald style. I watched a Chef prepare it in the Black Forest when I was maybe 10-11 years old, and I learned how to prepare this delicious pancake. My mom used to prepare it for us, but then forgot how to, and I stepped in ... 🙂

most newscasts, to varying degrees, come frome the same"controlled "source no matter where you live on this planet.
we are all being "had" one way or another.

The Internet was invented in the US (by the military), later the World Wide Web was invented by a British guy (Tim Berners Lee) working at CERN on the Swiss/French Border.

Funny, Zuses computers are Rangefinder related, the Z11 was sold to optics companies.

Edit:

And another idea to improve RFF, can we get a spellchecker?

And as for the invention of computers I claim that for Charles Babbage (British) for a mechanical machine, and Alan Turing (British) for the electro-mechanical machines.

Dang it! I had this all ready to go!

I'm sorry, but I still think the European spelling of the word "the" is wrong. Just plain wrong.😀
