What have you just BOUGHT?

I really miss the square. And I wanted super wide but for not a lot of money. Bronica SQ to the rescue. People are practically giving these things away (hopefully without a reason!). The 40mm is the only pricey (rectilinear) bit of kit ($300!). I hope I like it!

I wanted the "independence" from battery and electronics (I currently use Aria), but S2 is so overpriced... This one was 300 EUR, the cheapest I could find...

I've been wanting a versatile digital point and shoot, carry everywhere camera with an OVF and a fast lens. The Fujifilm X10 sounded intriguing, but a bit expensive.

Last night I got an email from KEH reminding me that their weekend free shipping offer was about to expire, so thought I'd just take a look - wasn't planning on buying anything, of course - then saw that they had one X10 in stock, EX+ grade for $379. Everything after that is OOF, just a blur.

It's on the way and should be here by Friday. Honey, it followed me home. Can I keep it?

I won and auction on Ebay for a deceased estate of a commercial photographer. I was bidding on all the contents of his darkroom that had not been used for some time. From the images I could see some interesting items that I needed for my planned darkroom. I ended up with the following items:

1. LPL 7700 colour enlarger with 4 neg carriers including two universal carriers (all in great condition).

2. 5 x ex. con Rodenstock enlarger lenses - 2 x Rodagon 105mm, a Rodagon 80mm WA, Rodagon 50mm APO and a 150mm (older model I think). They had been kept in a humidity controlled case.

3. Approx. 20 Jobo reels (mostly the large black ones that are double the size of normal reels), a couple of Jobo assorted tanks including four 4x5 Jobo reels which I have been chasing for years but have just been too expensive. A heap of ald patterson tanks and reels too. This guys would have been churning out some series negs.

4. Nearly 100 220 rolls of colour and slide film dates late '90s and early 2000's. 20 rolls of 35mm colour and slide. Some 4x5. All kept in a bar fridge.

5. Assorted enlarger timers, safe lights, hanging clips etc.

I had a long chat with the guy who was selling the stuff for the daughter. Not a photographer per se but knew his stuff. He mentioned some 7000 negs stored inside the house, mostly aerial stuff. Very interesting.

Got a big surprise when I found how much the lenses were worth... :)

Recently, Silk A&A, Barton braided, and a Makina 67 w/ grip. Time to sell stuff!!!

I recently bought a Nikon D600. I had a beautiful Zeiss ZF 50 f1.4 lens sitting around, and it is really nice to use on the D600. Awesome Image Quality. Darned heavy though. I prefer to use my M4-P and Zeiss 50 f1.5 and 35 f2.8 lenses for walkabouts.

The D600 is very useful for a bunch of things, but I still prefer the look of film for B/W.

A black Minolta X-500 with MD 50/1.7 and MD 28/2.8. Charity shop rescue case but I donated back the 'Super Ozeck 72-200 f/<some-large-number>' that came with it.

Apparently the X-500 doesn't often appear in black unlike the X-570.

Leica M3 DS with goggled Summaron 35mm f2.8 and IROOA shade for a steal... ;)

will go to CRR Luton for a black enamel finish...

Newest Goodwill find. Yet another Kodak Signet 35. I'm so addicted to these things. This one is a 1953, to go along with my 1955. The 53's is superficially worse, but the dials and knobs feel extremely good to handle. My 55 is a little loosey goosey. The best part of this find was the accessory overload. All the items have the original box, instructions, registration cards and even some catalog pages from where they were ordered.

GE Type DW-68 light meter
Autoknips II shutter timer
Gruenex Aux Telephoto lens
Kodak steel flexi shutter cable release
Kodak metal lens hood
Kodak Porta +2 filter
Kodak yellow filter
Kodak red filter
Kodak filter for type A film (not sure what this is...red/orange color)
Ednalite warming filter
Ednalite skylight/uv filter
(I really like these Ednalite filters)
4 Kodak/Tiffen series V adapters
A bunch of flash stuff I won't use

It was fun going through the paperwork. $1.95 for a filter. Damn.
