What have you just BOUGHT?

Nikon 1 V1 (Never thought I would ever buy it, but I unexpectedly fell in love with it.)

Some Miranda lenses and some minor stuff...

on the dark side... a Canon EOS 300 with kit EF 28-80 3.5-5.6 II for $6 from a charity store. Replacement CR2 batteries cost another $12. It feels like a gust of wind would blow it away.

I wanted to get a camera that focuses slower than my old Sigma DP1 so I snagged an EOS M with 22mm pancake for under $400. Will be fun to try out.

Ricoh 500ZF with winder

It took me a solid 5 minutes to figure out the winder did not use batteries, but was spring powered! This made my purchase even more interesting. Incidentally, picture taken with my modern Ricoh GXR, siblings 30+ years apart.

What was (were) your most recent purchase(s); why and when?
Technically speaking, this was not "my" purchase - but yesterday my wife took me to the camera store and bought me a near mint used Nikonos V and the attached 35mm f/2.5 lens as a 20th anniversary gift. :D

1Nikkor 1.8/18.5 as a "normal" lens for the Nikon 1 V1.

Tamron 70-300 as a tele-shooter for my Nikon D3100 (and to replace the very good but kind of plasticky Nikkor 55-200).

I have sold several items to re-fund for it.

Crosspost with the $40 challenge.

Came across this the other day on the 'Bay.
Yes it's not a "real" Leica, but it was reasonably priced and came complete with box and docs. It arrived today and it's completely mint. Looks to me like no film was ever even run through it. Box had a price tag of $539.99.

Now I'm technically a Leica owner. :D

That little beastie was made by Panasonic and has an outstanding Leica-designed lens. Had one many years ago. Sold it to a friend who's still using it, and loving it.

Thank you, Ivan! Pretty much every Autocord-made image in the vast memory of Google is remarkable in one way or another, and because many of these are portraits, and the photographer naturally posted the best of the best, it's easy to judge how splendid the average IQ of the best exposures are.

So I suppose I'll be offering to portray my family and friends in all lights, then move on to strangers, then who knows what with this machine....
