Went to Tokyo over the new year and was fortunate (and insanely lucky) to come across a japanese Leica MP-6. It is now my MP-6 😛

Also two lenses: Nikkor AI 85 f/2 lens, Summicron 35 ASPH 6-bit in silver/chrome. But who cares about those!

I bought a gevaert Gevabox camera. I think it's a British market example of the second version as it has 1 speed plus B and 3 apertures: f8, f11 and f16. It may even have proper variable focus. I won't post a pic here as I've already posted one my 'box cameras' thread.

I've been on a selling rampage lately, which I do from time to time. I often try new things and then purge out what's not going to get used.

Sold most of my lenses and my Monochrom and bought a pretty nice Pentax K-1 kit actually, which I'm quite pleased with though I'm still figuring out the lenses I want to use for that thing.

Additionally I bought a UC-Hexanon 35, a Chrome Nokton 50mm VM and a nice user M3.

Next on my list is the SA21 then I'm done done done. (Until the next time I sell everything)

It's unconventional to be certain, but this keeps me from amassing too much stuff and though it's still a lot there's nearly nothing that's superfluous in my equipment, only what will see regular use.

A Kaiser RS-2 light stand to digitize my 5-year old daughter's art (too large to fit on a flatbed scanner).

Still trying to get the hang of lighting without reflections (I am using a piece of scrap AR museum glass from a frame shop to flatten the artwork) and the workflow.

A Minolta X-700 in great condition was passed on to me by my brother-in-law the dentist. So light and small compared to modern SLRs and I like the ergonomics. It just needed lenses other than the 100 macro attached to a bellows that was used for dental photography in bygone days. For just over 100 USD I bought Minolta Rokkor-X 50 1.7 and Rokkor-X 28 2.8 MD lenses for this older SLR. That will get me started....

Dear Board,

I received an Olympus Stylus Zoom 170, an Olympus Zoom 2000, and an Olympus IS-20 DLX. All of them powered up with fresh batteries and loaded film like they are supposed to do. I took a few shots around the house and they all seem to works as advertised. We'll see how it all works out?

I also received a hidden gem in the grab bag, an Olympus C2500L. It also powers up and it still takes pictures. Unfortunately the pictures do not display properly? They show on the rear LCD as grey tone images separated by horizontal lines as if the shutter is broken? When I transfer the images to my computer they display as shot for a brief second and then promptly revert the images as displayed on the camera.

If it's dead that's OK because it brought my first digital camera back to life. It came with a 32Mpeg Smart Media card. I loaded the card in an Olympus C-2040Z that was given to me by a friend 12 years ago and loaded fresh batteries and voila', everything worked as it should.

I am a nature and wildlife photographer and digital has been a blessing to me with it's shoot, check, delete protocol. I think it might be fun to go out with a limited camera and only 64 possible shots to see if I can get a grasp on actually finding something of interest to photograph besides birds or deer?

We shall see!

Sold my Nikon film cameras and lenses last week. Bought my 3rd and final (oh, yeah?) Canon RF- a 11D2 to go with the 11S2 and 1VSB2. I now have an imbalance of lenses which will need to be addressed sooner rather than later!

Were they advertising any of the $ 40.00 crated WWII surplus jeeps along with the storage building you bought? I always wanted one of those when I was a kid and saw the ads in Popular Mechanics and Outdoor Life among other magazines.

I'm intrigued. Do you have a link to this surplus workshop? I'm having trouble imagining what you bought.
