What have you just BOUGHT?

Nothing wrong with the Canadian cron in my eyes. Just got one recently too and it's been fantastic.

Both my Summicrons are Canadian, as is my camera. I think the 70s and 80s era Leicas maximize construction quality, and minimize price. The earlier, German cameras are extremely well made, but the youngest is nearly 50 years old, and likely in need of major service. The later ones (M6 on, including the digitals) are considerably more expensive. And they all require batteries after returning manufacturing to Germany.

I am very happy with my North American Leica!

I bought a Nikon MC-36 which is an intervalometer I plan to use for capturing images of the eclipse. I tested it focusing on my backyard bird feeder, set it to take one image per minute, then went out shopping. Here's the image I captured:

I am doing PtPd printing of a portfolio of images from a recent trip to Yosemite and had to stock up on Pictorico, ink, Arches Platine, PtPd chemicals, foam board, and mat board. It adds up pretty quickly, and then you get to do it again. But the results are worth it.

Olympus XA: Second test roll off to Precision Camera and Video for processing. First test roll, decided C-41 processing wasn't for me as long as there's a lab open with reasonable cost. I paid significantly more than the $2 JohanK paid for his, but considerably less than the Olympus XA currently at Keh.

Praktica VLC2: Described as tested. Well, a couple of test fires without film, and the mirror stuck up and the film transport jammed. Found a way to unjam, but there continue to be issues with shutter/mirror/film transport. Repairman said to return if possible. Returned. Seller is picking up return shipping (as offered in original eBay listing), but is balking that the cheapest way for me to return (USPS and UPS were about the same) is over twice expensive as she paid to send to me (via Canadian Post).

Fujica ST-801: First test roll off to Precision Camera and Video, as above. Also picked up a seal kit just in case first roll shows light leaks. Why do I need this when I have a stable of Nikon FSLRs? I want to play with Russian M42 lenses. Mir-1 series and Helios 44 series are at the top of my list.

Does finding my long-lost/misplaced Nikon 1 V1 count? I'll be shooting the local "Cars and Coffee" this weekend with it, while awaiting the results from the test rolls.

a bunch of 120 for the fuji gw680 upcoming trip to Italy. A nostalgia buy of black Nikon F w plain pentaprism. A summaron 35 (no goggles) for the MP (film)

22 rolls of 120 film for $20.

Agfa Optima Sensor 1535 coming any day now from Germany. I love its style - like a mini Plaubel Makina - and picked it over a Rollei 35 as it has a rangefinder and much more sensitive light meter.

I just this week picked up an X100f. I've been shooting just with an M monochrome for a while and can't do without color (other than an iPhone) indefinitely. The menu system on the Fuji is a bit jarring but I'm getting comfortable with it and it is fun to shoot with.
