What have you just BOUGHT?

i had two $50 Sennheiser before, both work 2 1/2 yrs before the R channel went out, i think it's my fault, dropping them or step on cable when getting up, they are very good for the money

i'm trying AT for the first time, my other choice is a Sony 7506

this $50 Audio Tec is made in Taiwan(Taiwan is not China...yet), close end head phone, i'll try an open-end next...

Reminds me (no political discussion intended) how Europe is different, there are college tuitions but far from the really expensive US! Had to google it, but in Europe it's about $12000 a year in the public system. Private can get much more expensive, but the base starts at that $12K/year.

As someone in their 20s, and seeing how unstable the contemporary lifestyle is, kids are not planned anytime soon.

There is no proverbial "free-lunch". Healthcare, public education that is ostensibly "free" is paid for in overbearing taxes and limited opportunity later on. And so children become an unaffordable 'luxury', resulting in a decline in the population able to pay for all the good intentions and then you have...Europe of today.

Or in the words of Margaret Thatcher, "the problem with Socialism is that eventually, you run out of other people's money to spend".

Had been looking at the Huss Pentax MX + 40mm pancake thread. I had long wanted a 40mm, but, not bad enough to pay the $120 to $150 they seem to be selling for. Got motivated to look again. I have purchased one on Ebay for $105 delivered, with an MV body attached... looks good in pics, and sample photos in the listing look encouraging. Waiting...

Had been looking at the Anything Takumar thread, and had taken note of praise for the S-M-C or Super 35mm f3.5. I recently saw an S-M-C version at KEH for $26 delivered, looking very clean, but labeled as-is bargain. I figured it would have a gummy aperture, which I could probably fix. Yes, aperture is sticky. And, I find that it has a few fine fungal threads, as well. Will be going through it, soon... a nice project that will help build some skill.

100 ft bulk roll of Forma 100, another 6 x 6 back for the Kiev 88, sent the Kiev 88 home for a CLA. Kodak Vigilant Junior 6-Twenty.

I just put in an order for:

- Leica M10-P, silver chrome
- the new 28mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH, silver anodized
- 50mm f/2 APO-Summicron ASPH, LHSA Edition
- 75mm f/1.25 Noctilux ASPH, black

Received this week an M4 looking very good and functioning well other than the vertical RF alignment, which I corrected. It was missing the red/black/silver film id 'thingy' on the back, but DAG sent me that. Half-way through the first roll now.

My French is extremely rusty but I picked up Martine Franck anyway, which is fine since "I only look at the pictures, honest!"

Other purchases: a bunch of filters for my recent Nikon LTM obsession (those weird sizes and pitches are expensive), some Ilford fixer, an Ondu pano 35mm pinhole (might be a while before it gets made and delivered), and an Agfa Clack which is destined to be converted to a pinhole camera within days of arrival.

Just bought.

A couple of 35mm rolls of Kodak E100. Mostly doing my part to support them so they will roll out some 120, hopefully.

A Mint+++ Stereo Realist with all the paperwork, Mint case and flash. Bought it for an insanely low price. BTW the gent in the avatar is HAROLD LLOYD. He took some 300,000 stereo images from 1948-1971.

A motor drive and hand grip for my Leica R7 in excellent condition (I'll check when it arrives) for £31 on Ebay (plus postage from Italy). If it turns up as described I'll be pretty chuffed.
