Sigma DP2 Merrill and a Leica Monochrom M9M. Bayer-less again, finally.

This just arrived, a bit rough in its modification but the interesting part of it is that it is rangefinder coupled. The RF window is at the bottom of the camera and the secondary window is just below the main VF. Turning the camera to a portrait orientation allows for a horizontal RF dual image and also gives better access to the focus knob on the lens without my hand being in the way of the RF.

Unfortunately the shutter doesn't seem to be working properly. I'm not seeing much of any difference between the speed settings. B works though.

I'll take some test shots tomorrow to see if the exposure is changing the the shutter speed.

Estate sale today, Canon IIB rangefinder body for $8. Yeah, the sale was so massive that some things were unmarked, and, some people got lucky, depending on who they approached for pricing.


The body is not bad, overall. Someone has used a foreign object to make impressions on the shutter. It fires, but not up to speed.

Thank you! Original chrome is timeless, I had to wait over a year to get my kit back from overhaul, and re-paint so you're making a solid choice.

I bought a Pollux rangefinder marked in Metres to use with my Welta Weltax. The rangefinder window is quite small and very pale, so it's a challenge to use even for someone who has owned 3 Zorki 4k's.

Sorry, not a rangefinder but I just bought an Arax 88. The "ARAX-CM-MLU/SE (Special Edition) kit."
And a Kaleinar 150mm lens to go along with the Zodiac 30mm. So, once my package arrives, I'll have super-wide, normal, and short-tele.
The kit includes two 6x6 film backs, eye level and waist level finders and some other bits.

I just ordered it off KEH with the description “with grip and cable” so I assume it has the anatomical grip. I’ll look into getting my 135mm cammed. I think cams are still made?

I finally got my hands on a "Contatest" closeup attachment for my Contax IIa cameras. Can't wait to try some closeups/abstracts and see how those turn out.

A historical camera, a (probably) real war veteran:

A Graflex Anniversary Speed Graphic used by the USAAF in WW2 (under the military designation Ground Camera C-3). It was made in 1944 without chrome, as every wartime Graflex. Maybe it just sat in an Army Storage facility before the war ended, but quite probably served in the Pacific or most probably in Europe, taking pictures of bombers & fighters (in the ground, obviously). It still works perfectly with both leaf and focal plane shutters and my first pictures with it were cautiously choosen: bunkers and trenches of the Segre front during the spanish civil war arround Lleida.
