Leon do you have or have you considered the pistol grip? I'm thinking about getting one but not sure if it's worth it or not.It landed and is in extremely good condition, the rubber eyepiece fell apart when I opened it but can't complain as the meter works.

Many thanks for weighing in -- I should be getting my Pro S kit back from service/repair next week, so I was wondering. I have my eye on one in particular but not sure if it's worth spending the money or not. Heck I'm not even sure that I'm going to keep the camera 🙂I did read online that there's mixed feelings with some Vince, for me it depends on how much weight it might add as it's a chunk of camera to be hand holding already, it probably does make it easier/more comfortable to hold! But unless I try one for myself?
Also depends on price, if one was cheap enough then it might be worth a go, also one thing to consider is I believe they don't have a tripod mount on the basic one, maybe someone can jump in that has one or had one.
The other thing that might be weird at first is shooting with your left hand, although I'm left handed all shutter buttons are mostly on the right side!
Just checked and the basic one weighs 278g/10oz

The Contessa is a great camera. Folds up to go in your pocket. Makes good pictures. Nothing remotely like it will ever be made again.Zeiss Ikon Contessa 35 with a Tessar Zeiss-Opton T, 45mm f/2.8 and a Zeiss UV filter in a stitched leather case attached to the camera case strap. I discovered this little package in an antique/retro store. It was sitting amongst a number of engineering tools (cased microscope lens, revolution counters, micrometers and a electrical tester mega. It is in outstanding condition and I don't mean for a camera that is 70 years old it is in a condition that suggests it has never been out of its case. The light meter works but is not accurate. I paid £18.00 and the lady said they only give discounts on purchases over £25.00 so it will have to be the full price of £18.00. I think for around 1 millisecond is this a good price or not? Trying not to have a smug look on my face I give the full asking price. I have put a roll of FP 4 through the camera and it works just as good as it looks. It is a really good handling 35mm folding camera. I am looking forward to a long relationship with this little beauty.
I'm going to try and find one in a local bricks and mortar store to try it first before I decide, the finder above is quite light so might be useable with that one.
I bet yours will be lovely when you get it back, you are going to take some pics first before you decide though I hope, my 180 lens lands next week so testing begins then.
If you were using LR 6 before there are an enormous amount of really useful features in LR Classic that weren't in LR6.I caved and bought a year subscription to Lightoom CC (which includes LR Classic) during B&H's Black Friday sale. $75 was not at all bad, I think.
I am still on LR5 under MacOS Sierra😅If you were using LR 6 before there are an enormous amount of really useful features in LR Classic that weren't in LR6.
