These days, I find carrying more than 2 cameras gets in the way of taking pix. It used to be <some film camera> + Nikon D750. Then I got a D-Lux Typ 109 and that thing ruined me for the very fine Nikon DLSR. Yeah, it's only 16 Mpix, but boy does it have good ideas about what color should look like and even better ideas about monochrome. Just for fun, I put the Nikon in mono mode to compare (who knew it even had such a setting 🙂 and I still preferred the 'Lux output.

In Italy a few years ago I carried a IIIf and the D750. A year later, I took an M2 and the 'Lux to Greece. WHAT a difference. I was able to shoot far more in the moment without the weight of the DSLR hanging off me. I did have in my bag, and every time I pulled it out to use it, it felt like I was carrying a bowling ball 😉

When I was working mountain guiding in Europe I brought my M6 with a 35mm summicron, & even that didn't come on every climb. When i took my kids on the Tour du Mont Blanc, I carried my Rolleiflex. Another trip on the Fuji GW680 lll since i had a particular photo in mind. Last summer in the Dolomites it was just the CL/28mm combo and the Perkeo. Often less is more...especially when you're carrying everything.

How do you avoid spilling that drink when you're climbing?

OMG - I always wanted it for a reasonable price. I bought one recently on ebay, but had to return because the aperture did not work. It usually starts at 160€ or so if in decent condition, so your deal is really good!

The days you could get them on eBay for £50/£60 is now over. I look on FB marketplace for old Prakticas - flektogons/Pancolars come together as a set.

When I was younger, two Rolleiflexes and M6 around my neck was “business as usual”. Last year I probably shot the highest number of rolls with Minolta TC1. For me less is more primarily because when I carry just one camera/one lens I always visualize the frame using the exact set up I have and either in B&W or color. When I have with me everything my “RAM” works much slower- it has to process all possible combinations…

I recently got this Fp-l after seeing @shawn doing some long exposure work with his.
It came with the evf which I already knew I didn't like, then I found this LVF-11 at a good price and thought I'd give it a go.
I've been using it on the Fp-l with Canon Ts-e lenses on a tripod. I was so impressed I went out today with the Sigma 17mm and used it handheld. It's incredibly light and the view is so large it's extraordinary.
It looks really odd but in practice it's a fabulous viewfinder. Highly recommended.

Nice! Hope you like the fp L. The sensor in it is great. I had the equivalent lcd finder on a DP Quattro, they are very nice. Have fun!
