What have you just BOUGHT?

A Think Tank Citywalker 10 arrived this lunchtime. Only unpacked it so far. Will pack it later in readiness for a walk in the morning as its there's been a heavy snowfall all afternoon and it doesnt look like stopping. The snow is lying thickly now. Quite a change from the hot temps I was enjoying in Morocco a couple of days ago.

I just bought a used Leica X2 (used), grip (used) and electronic VWF (new) from B&H. I did it because I'd like a less obtrusive, take everywhere camera. My Nikon D700, 24-70/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 are lovely, but intimidate people and wear the crud out of my forearm/elbow in short order, esp longer zoom with SB900 on board.

Just unpacked it, charged up battery and tried it out. After no more than 6 shots, the camera started displaying a rainbow of interference lines, beeping frantically like a tiny siren, then the screen went solid green. Had to take off the grip and remove the battery to shut it up. NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE, LEICA! My Minilux never acted up, nor did my M2.

Damn, damn, damn......

Anything manufactured can have a defect. You bought the X2 used ... perhaps it was traded in because it had a problem, and the good folks at B&H didn't see it.

I'm delighted with the X2 myself. I bought mine new—it's done nothing but work perfectly for seven months and a couple thousand photos so far. The Minilux I had crapped out on me three times, by comparison ... just up and quit all of a sudden, needed Leica to service it.

Such it is.

Haven't paid for it yet, but last evening I picked up the Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED that I'd committed to buying at the end of December. It's a honking big stinker. Now to evaluate whether it's in good order and suck it up, write the check....

A three-pack of Impossible Project Color Protection film for the SX-70 arrived.

I also obtained a second Hasselblad A12 magazine for the SWC. Two film backs is about right for my projected needs. Still have to load up a roll of film and take it out for a walk.

Godfrey,

Please post a review on this film...Thanks...:D

Just purchased an Black M9 a 40 mm Summicron-C and a 35mm Summilux Pre-Asp. All of which I have owned at one point in the past and regretted getting rid of.

Wow Chris, you've been shopping more than the missus. Despite getting yet another bag I'm trying to hang on to some cash with all this talk of Fuji X100s, Ricoh GRD V, i may get tempted. Got yourself some nice stuff there, enjoy. Hope you're feeling we'll btw.

Feeling fine thanks Paul. I'd be out shooting with it all (well, perhaps just the cameras) if I weren't ploughing my few (very few) remaining pennies into getting my Defender fixed to a reliable standard  Hope you're okay, too. Need a Manny (or elsewhere) meet up soonish.

First I have swapped two manual lenses (Zuiko and Rokkor) for a Nikon D3100.
Then I have bought a Nikkor AF-S 18-70 in the "BAY". (To replace the Kit 18-55.)

And now a cheapo AF-S 55-200 as a tele lens for that D3100.
I really like that cam!

Ah, yes, and a Metz flash for the M8.

A Leica SHOOC - a shoe-mount 135mm finder for Leica M cameras. It's in almost new condition.

The magnification is 1:1, so it can be used with both eyes open. The bright-line frame just floats in the air. It will be great for doing portraits with the camera held in portrait mode.

An Epson V700 scanner to replace my V500 which has the glass falling out of it..! Best of all I got it for around $100, not too bad considering the fleabay price seems to be around 200-400$ in auctions!

I was the only bidder on this ..... but my wife says it has to go in the darkroom

Good deal!

I paid $400 for a V700 that may be a refurbished model. It still does not work.
