What have you just BOUGHT?

A LN black E-P3 with a silver 17mm f/1.8--yes, the 1.8--for $440. Both still have warranties for nearly two years also. Probably the craziest deal I've ever had the pleasure of snatching.

I bought a lunasix sbc light meter with a spot attachment -

It turns out to be a ONE degree attachment that is bigger than the meter. It is very cool.

Bessa R2A this morning. Just couldnt resisit the price. Will be interesting to compare along side my M4 and see what i like more.

A Fuji Finepix SL 1000! I got to the airport this morning, realising that my GH-3 with 7 to 14 lens would not be adequate to photograph a major contract signing ceremony, and I could not get any other longer Lumix lens: so at around $US 320 this was the best cost effective deal going. The lens goes out to a masssive 35mm equivalent of 1200mm: more than enough to get me into trouble! Not too sure about the resolution, but it will do what I need it to.

Appropos my last post, I should explain that Leicas are forbidden by my insurance cover for travelling - I am currently in Jakarta.

A dog!

$175 adoption fee and $4 to license him with my local municipality. A 1-1 1/2 year old pit bull, picked up as a stray by animal control, and the senior resident of the local pound at just over 4 months. He's the sweetest thing, looks exactly like what you'd expect if you just asked for a generic 'medium tan dog', and is getting along pretty well so far with his adopted bulldog sister Lola.

We named him Brodie - a Kevin Smith reference should anyone care, and it fits him perfectly.

Another excuse for more film - he might even sit still long enough for the 4x5!

A Zeiss 35mm F2 Biogon ZM. This is to replace/augment my Voigtlander 35mm Nokton F1.4 SC, as i've decided i much prefer a focus ring to a tab.

A Contax Aria. It's my second one. It needs repair on the door, but I only paid $118.00 tax and shipping included. So now I own 2 Arias, one Contax RX, 2 Konica Hexar AF's and a Voigtlander Bessa R.

A near mint Tamron SP 300mm f2.8 (360B) Adaptall lens. I've had my eye on this uncommon lens with its fast aperture, ED lens elements, and internal focusing. I've always wanted a superfast very long telephoto, and this one fits the bill, being the last and best manual focus 300mm f2.8 lens made by Tamron, and fast internal focusing. Of course, this thing weighs over 5 lbs!

I already have an OM Zuiko MC 300mm f4.5, which takes excellent pics and is pretty compact for a 300mm, but I don't like that the focusing ring is very heavily dampened (although very smooth) on this lens model, which makes it somewhat difficult to use for sports or wildlife photos as it is slow focusing.

I had to chuckle at this as I also just got a dog. it's an Australian Labradoodle puppy. I'm planning on taking lots of pictures of him.

For other things I have just bought (photo-related) -

1. I bought a Nikon 70-300 VR lens. It arrived on Friday and on Saturday I used it at the Civil War Reenactment I attended.

2. I, gasp, just bought a D700. I'd been wanting a full frame camera to complement my D300. This particular camera has a Katz Eye split prism focusing screen which should help in using my manual focus lenses.
