What have you just BOUGHT?

This old Pen just arrived. The paint has been pretty much compeletely worn away, the lens coating was badly etched, and the fronte elements separated. The shutter was stuck, and the screw which hold the film cou ter together was broken off.

Since it is unlikely I will ever find a spare 2.5cm lens, I swapped in a 3cm f2.8 lens from a Pen S. I was also able to rebuild the shutter, and get the viewfinder cleaned out. This old Pen is now a good shooter once more.

From German Ebay, four Plaubel Makina 120 Filmbacks. One is 6x6cm, the other three are 6x9cm. So now I have eight of these total. They fit my three Plaubel Makiflexes (see my avatar).

Will need to clean these new ones up, but they'll be fine. Enough filmbacks now to do some serious work. 😉

Fuji 60/2.4 XF Macro, used from Keh. I figured with the announcement of the 56/1.2 that a minor flood of 60's might happen, and Keh had a handful, so I got one with both caps and hood. That's one silly-large hood! With the front element so recessed, I doubt I'll carry the hood for regular use.

Keh said the 65 SA was "Ugly" but I see nothing wrong with it cosmetically except a bit of brassing, the glass is clean, and the shutter fires on all speeds (I have a Calumet tester at home so I can make my cheat sheet on how inaccurate the shutter really is), and it was only $126, which is cheap for that lens. According to Schneider's website, that lens was made likely in early 1968, so it's just a few months younger than I am (my serial number is from July of '67), and looks less worn and used than I am! 😉

I like that I got two lenses of nearly the same focal length, but one's a modern, autofocus, digital-specifiic short telephoto macro and the other is a ~46 year old wide angle.
 
Just schlepped a new Canon Pixma Pro-1 photo printer into my home. What a beast...



Love its output though.

Hi,

I think the Voigtlaender Brilliant with the posh Helicar(?) lens needs them. It's certainly an odd size, especially when looking for a lens hood.

a couple adapters for my wife's Canon DSLR so I can use different lenses on it
original hood for my Nikon 50mm 1.4 (1966 era)
Brownie Reflex at a thrift store, with exposed roll of 127 film still in it.
 
Paid for processing and scanning of about 70 rolls of 35mm and 120 film that had been sitting in my refrigerator for years (some over a decade old) in hopes I would find the time to process it. It was mostly B&W, with a few rolls of 120 color slide and print film thrown in. Came out pretty nicely.

Also, over the past two months bought 40 rolls of film, a Nikon FE2 body, a Nikon 28mm f2.8 AIS lens (with CRC), an OM Zuiko 35mm shift (multicoated version), a OM Zuiko 24mm f2.0, and a Nikon 105mm f2.0 DC (defocus control lens). All of the lenses are terrific (except the Nikon 28mm f2.8 which has oily aperture blades). The Nikon 105mm f2.0 DC has perhaps the best bokeh I have ever seen.
 
A set of E46 and E40.5 yellow and orange filters - international shipping turned out to be for free - yay!

I also finally (after 4 years contemplating) ordered full matte focussing screens for my old lady, the Nikon D3 …
 
a digitalFujifilm X100 Black, fantastic colour and finish, it is an electronic rangefinder camera. It outperformes the other suspects without a viewfinder by large.
"This is a CAMERA", I told my wife.
