What have you just BOUGHT?

A Minolta 58mm f1.2. There is a bit of dust which a CLA will cure, otherwise a beauty. Not bad for just under $250. Looking forward to seeing what this does on the Fuji.

Olympus OM 50mm f1.2 lens

Been looking for one for ages, and is in beautiful condition. However the aperture blades which are quick to close, are then very slow to open up again. Really frustrating but I think it will have to go back.

I had the same lens with this issue. The CLA where I live is not expensive - 20€ made it perfect lens again...

My 28mm SLR lens (Hoya PK) did this after I dug it out of years of no use. A bit of grease on the blades is all, when cleaned off it is snappy again.

Thanks Jonnyrod

The camera shop I got it from are sending it off for servicing under guarantee, so I'll be without it for 3-4wks, but at least I get a free servicing out of it!🙂

Quick to close is better than quick to open. That means any pictures you'd take with it would be OK.

A CLA shouldn't be too expensive.

Besides, when would you not shoot it wide open? 😀

Olympus OM-1N with Zuiko 50/3.5 Macro, both in lovely condition.

Super Wide C

Super Wide C

I've no idea how I got this lucky, but I picked up this Hasselblad Super Wide C for $175. I didn't cheat a poor widow either. The lady who had it is a retired photographer and she was selling a bunch of Nikon autofocus gear; the only thing I had intended to buy was a teleconverter for $20, and I almost fainted when she told me how much she wanted for the SWC. The camera had belonged to her father, also a photographer, and it shows signs of heavy use, but everything on it works and the lens is fine when I look through it with a magnifying glass. I think I may send it away for a complete overhaul, just in case. Now my reels and tanks and 80mm el-Nikkor will have to be dug out of storage 🙂.
