What have you just BOUGHT?

Two metal 49mm lens hoods that are actually proper matt black on the inside! I also bought a metal 72mm hood from the same seller, but it isn't quite as matt black, so I think I'll have to buy a small tin of matt black paint.

Two 25 sheet packs of Print File 120 film sleeves...
I used my last two sheets the other day and I want to shoot more 120 film but I need to protect them once developed...
I bought them from Samys Camera in Pasadena today on my way home from Glendale...

Minolta 40mm F/2 M-Rokkor

I've been curious about something tighter than my 35, but still well in my comfort range. I also wanted to add something older to my collection, as most of my lenses are modern.

An early Ensign Commando, just after WW2, and a c.1928 cubic Graflex RB Series B, in 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 format (aka quarter plate), in perfect working condition both of them.

Nice - colour me jealous Emile!

Despite my ban of buying things I just ordered an Elmar 180mm F f4 for my R series (and an adapter to fit my Fuji, to get closer to 250mm) - lots of warships come and go and I want just a bit more of them filling my viewfinder.

Keeps the inspiration happening!

This 6x12 is basically in mint unused condition.

R lenses..

I only have 1 R lens..the 60mm macro..and its a cracker!
I'm sure you are going to luv the 180mm on your Fuji!
Cheers!

Just bought this... First M camera for me to even see and touch with my hands. Fired through two rolls today and mechanically I couldn't ask for anything better! The vulcanite can be fixed later.... Or not. ;)

Where will you place this cool dude?
I can appreciate having a "real" one and not a modern knock off that was not created to serve it's original intended purpose -- assuming those exist.

For once I have not bought a
new lens. Instead I have bought something to take photos of........

In this case it is what is referred to as a "shishi". What's a shishi you ask?. Well it is also known as a Foo Dog, a Lion Dog, a Temple Dog or a Temple Guardian Lion etc. They are usually seen in pairs and found outside the doors of temples, banks, offices etc in Asia.

In my case it is said to be about 150 years old, about 600mm long and maybe 450mm high mounted on a base. It came from a local collector's collection. It has some nice age to it and lots of patina. Love it. They say these are reputed to bring good luck.....let's hope so as I think my wife will kill me when she finds out what it cost.

Mine is from Malacca (in Malaysia) and that would almost certainly mean it came from an old Peranakan temple. The Peranakan culture came about from a melding of Malaysian culture with Southern Chinese culture when Chinese traders moved to Malacca and married local women (these women in this culture are known as as Nyonya - if you have ever eaten Malacca Laksa, congratulations - you have eaten Nyonya food and it is delicious.)

After that introduction - my little man. He may be ugly to you but to me he is gorgeous.

PS If you wonder why the term "Temple Dog" is sometimes used well I did too until I looked closely at a Pekinese Dog. You can see a certain resemblance.

A Kiev-4A, made in 1976. In fact I bought it as a present for my nephew, who has a little collection of his own.

Here it is compared with it's German "father", an original Contax II made in 1936. It's interesting how both were made in dictatorial states, the III Reich and the USSR. Now I'm planning to have another and much better evolution of the Contax, the Nikon S.
