What have you just BOUGHT?

As I am waiting for my new Graflex I have ordered from Fotoimpex some ADOX CHS 100 II film in 4x5 and also RA4 developer to test for ECN process film.

A Nagel Pupille, the model with the same Leitz Elmar f3.5 / 50mm as the Leica. Sadly, this one specimen has a scratched front lens and even the shutter is slow on all speeds (probably meaning that the springs are worn, so no cleaning would help). It works, but the images are not great at all.

And a MFAP Pontiac Bloc Metall 45, one of the most beautiful cameras made in France you could ever get. It's a 9x12 folder beautifully manufactured just after WW2. It does not use 120 format, but 620, so the film needs to be respooled. The top controls of the camera, carved in aluminium, are a beauty!

A Soligor (Ichizuka) 50mm f/1.4 C mount lens.
A Nikon F mount reverse adapter for macro use.

7, count them, 7 manual typewriters. All needing some repair. Smith-Coronas and a couple Royals.

I sold a 35mm summilux pre-asph years ago, and have been looking for a replacement for a long long time.

Finally found a Canadian 35mm Summilux pre-asph for nearly a song. I couldn’t be more happy, and this time, I’m never selling.

A Voigtländer Vito BL, made in 1958. I bought this camera because my grandfather had one, but it's not mine. In fact this one I bought quite cheap on the internet, it's so identical to my grandfather's, that fortunately it has an inside sticker of the retailer (near Duisburg, in Germany) so I can differentiate both.

Both work well, and I discovered that the Vitos are a wonderful small but very well thought camera. It's quite heavy for its size, and although lacks rangefinder, it's easy to do zone focusing and has a wonderfully luminous viewfinder. I will buy more Vitos, as they are quite cheap.

Hopefully not to heretical: a Fujinon W 150mm lens on a (gasp!) Nikon branded board. For my 4x5 camera.
Expecting delivery tomorrow.
Recently got some J.Lane Dry Plates and the Stearman plate holders delivered.
Hoping the Chromagraphica plate holders for my camera ship soon.

Then, weather permitting, I plan an expedition to my backyard.

A French camera, a Gaumont Stereo Spido (or Stereospido), made c.1920-29. It's my first stereo camera. Sadly the ground glass arrived broken. It works, but has proven difficult to use without the proper format sheet or plates. One day I have to make an special order to Jason Lane.

It's quite heavy, being all metal, and even the aperture indications are very odd and not used anymore.

I'm thankful for enterprises that continue to ship under the current conditions. I just bought some Marshall spotone and a box of 250 sheets of Ilford Classic FB 8"x10".
Thanks to B &H

I had one of those very backs completely fail on me with the Stereflektoskop and glass plates. Hopefully you won’t have the same heartache.
