Two $1500 lenses.
The one in my right eye was put in three weeks ago and the left eye was done today.
Both for infinity, now I will finally see the night sky. Stars are pin points.

Well, more blue for sure. Looking at Jupiter last night with my right eye using an ancient 2.4 in refractor and a 1 inch Kellner eyepiece, thats about 28x. There was a bit of veiling glare around the planet that partially wiped out seeing the 4 large moons. Cleared upafter a bit but still somewhat disappointing.
And for 52 years I’ve used my left eye for looking through a camera eyepiece. Very hard habit to break. Tried to use my right eye but it is a struggle.

A set of Starrett screwdrivers in the appropriate size for working on camera innards. And a set of suitable tweezers to facilitate their use.
Never mind "yet another cheap Kodak Retina IIc" to play with.

Get some Sugru and you can coat the eyepieces while they're out. Have fun with the project!

An overhauled (no sticky mirror!) late Pentax LX, totally mint, and to complete the package, a CV Ultron 40mm f/2. The perfect complement to my MX's, but the Ultron is a total silly indulgence, since I have the Pentax 43mm already. Sometimes you just want something. Any of you know how that feels?

Arriving today from Ukraine, a Kiev 6S (supposedly mint and overhauled) with Vega 12B 90mm and Mir-38B 65mm lenses. This could be fun, or a nightmare. In any case, it promises to be (in the immortal words of W.C. Fields) "a situation fraught with immanent peril". Yes, I do know what I'm letting myself in for.

Ah, yes. Reminds me of the desert parakeet: flies backwards so as to keep the sand out of its eyes.
(As an aside, that’s also a W.C. Fields quote, but I’ve never been able to find it referenced on the web. Another quote of his, “Head for the Grampian Hills, the entire town of Lompoc is underwater.” has appeared on a website for teaching digital photography to those people in poverty:

It’s a moldable plastic and there are three squeezable pouches in the package. It comes in different colors and I’ve found it at Blick Art Supplies and Target.

Retina IIc with Sugru
This wasn’t the neatest job but it worked for me till I gave the camera to a film newbie.

Nothing really big-just a 49mm series 7 filter holder and 2 retaining rings.

A spare Nikon F5, bought for parts. It’s a little sticky, but it works just fine after cleaning out some corrosion in the battery compartment. Earlier in the month I bought a working Rolleicord iii for $45.
