What have you just BOUGHT?

A friend gave me the 80mm 2.8 Blue Dot & 180mm 4.5 Super lenses. His company was shutting down and they asked if he would get rid of these items.
He told me he had a lens and possibly a set of binoculars that I might like, then he handed these to me...it took a bit to figure out what I had, as it was dark out, but I knew what they were.
I've wanted a Mamiya TLR because of the changeable lens system, I do have a very nice Yashicamat 124g that gets used here and there...
I bought the C220 body a few days later from Japan and its in excellent condition. I have a new Seal Kit coming and will make sure this puppy is light-tite...
Both lenses came with cases and lens caps.
For a fairly small investment I have a very nice camera kit...

A titanium plate, four screws and a phenolic cage covered with bone marrow to realign and fuse my L5 and S1 vertebrae. The constant pain in my left leg is gone, I can stand for more than a few minutes at a time and nine days after surgery, was able to walk a mile and a half in half mile pieces. Oh, and my Hama Film cutter finially arrived.

A Nikon FG with a 43-86 zoom-thought it didn't work, but found out ALL the S-76 batteries I had on hand were no good.
And for a grand total of $43!

A Hartblei Pentacon 6 to Pentax 645 adapter. Beautifully made, perfect fit, perfect infinity focus. Now I can use my FSU lenses on the Pentax. Those folks made some sweet glass!

Today took delivery of a Tamron Adaptall 38-100mm 3.5 lens with a Leicaflex SL adapter.

The adapter was what I was aiming for but the lens is a nice surprise: a hunk of glass with a 72mm filter thread, 13 elements in 10 groups, very weighty (which I don't mind) and from the early seventies, like me!

My black paint Leicaflex SL looks the part with the lens on, and I get to use my Tamron Adaptalls 105mm 2.5 and 28mm 2.5 too now! :D

Thanks for the tip. I will have to pick one up to use my Petzvar 3.8 120 on the Pentax and also on the GFX. Tip in return, the 220 film inserts for the Pentax can be made into 120 inserts in about 5 minutes with just a small screw driver. KEH had 220 inserts with the plastic cases for $19, they sell the cases alone for $20 or the 120 inserts for $121.

Meanwhile...this happened....

Haven't used the 55-110 yet but initial tests of the 33-55 (on the GFX 50R) has me thinking it is better than its reputation suggests and will be a nice walk around lens. Hoping the 55-110 is similar in that regard. Both lenses are fairly compact, very light and dirt cheap considering they are still current lenses.

The 645N is awesome. Kind of like a MF F4 IMO. The grip is more comfortable and with a more traditional leatherish finish on it. The battery door is on the bottom of the grip so it feels a more solid compared to the little bit of play the 645 has at the back of the grip. The control layout is more traditional and basically matches the Fuji except exposure isn't locked with half press, you have to press another button with your thumb. Viewfinder seems like it might be a hair smaller, a little less bright right at the middle (no split image or micro-prism) but more even across the whole thing. The VF LCD display is quite a bit nicer but oddly doesn't show frame number. The physical shutter release on the 645 feels nicer than the 645N as the original is more solid feeling when you hit the first stop, the 645Ns is a bit more mushy. Like the power switch on the 645 a little better but the slide is less likely to be hit in a bag. In reasonable light the AF is quick and sure footed, faster than I am. Haven't finished the first roll yet but I will like the imprinting on the negatives.

The Pentax works well as a film companion to the GFX. They share lenses and the lens mount is close enough that GFX rear lens caps fit the Pentax lenses and vice versa.

Snapped this little beauty up earlier in the week. Contessa Nettel Deckrullo Tropen, 6.5x9cm, with a 12cm/4.5 Tessar, about 1922. When I saw the price of it I thought I was imagining things, as I’ve seen these generally in the $1000+ range. Of course it needs new curtains (I have forewarned the Camera Wiz!), but the rest of the camera is in incredibly nice shape. Just need some plate holders!

Vince, that is a real beauty, though I must say, I think you're a glutton for punishment! Nevertheless, it's good to know that the Contessa will have a loving home, and if anyone can coax beautiful imagery out of such an ancient classic, it's you. Enjoy!

Oh heck I had been eyeing that very thing for days but didn't know how long my teak-and-brass jones would last :p Any thoughts about Ernemann Tropen Klapp and Sanderson De Luxe Tropical cameras?
