What have you just BOUGHT?

Got myself a pretty used (but ok working) and thus relatively affordable Mamiya 6 with the 75mm lens. Waiting eagerly for it to turn up.
 
Found an absolutely mint Leitz Minolta CL + 40mm M-Rokkor for a steal. Also grabbed a beautiful Luigi leather half case/strap on Ebay that works perfectly on this camera. I've got a handful of Leica M cameras, but this particular CL is just stunning. Excited to get some rolls through it.

Recently I purchased a Nikon Z50 Two Lens Kit, which after looking around for a couple of weeks, may have been the last one available in the country until the next container finally lands at the Port of Los Angeles. I would have been satisfied with just getting a body to go with all the DX lenses I already have, but couldn't pass it up. It's true, those lenses are really good.

I was thinking about just waiting for the new DX18-140 to arrive, but who knows when those will ever show up, so I ordered a Z5 to be able to use my rangefinder lenses on a digital body without having to buy a used but still expensive Leica body or going through mental gymnastics figuring out which lens will give me the same FOV as a full frame model. Getting a smaller lighter body will take the stress off my right wrist. I'm not getting rid of any film cameras that I still intend to use, but they will get much less use.

It will take a while till the fun factor builds to the level that I enjoy with my film cameras, but I see little bits of it as I learn how to use these new mirrorless cameras to their full potential.

Picked up my first 35mm film camera in years (played around with 4x5 for a bit in 2019-2021, but it didn't resonate with me). I bought a Canon VT from Ebay and an Industar 50mm lens from Fedka. The camera is super clean and does not look like a 65yo camera. The only flaw is that the film-advance knob doesn't lock up and the little release button below it doesn't move, but the knob works fine all the same. Also, a former owner stenciled their name on the baseplate, but it's tastefully done and adds to the history of the camera.

Very nice camera, Vince! Recently I've bought a IIIa too, no. 269920. No Tiranty for sure. The only difference I see compared to yours is the size of the serial number digits. I had some trouble with the two-way mirror and with the long speeds. I replaced the two way mirror, but I am not very happy with the recent two way mirrors from Nobbysparrow. It is not contrasty enough. I think I will replace it again. I've cleaned the escapement for the long speeds that now runs perfectly.

100 sheets of 4x5 HP5, 100 sheets of 4x5 Delta 100, 50 sheets of 4x5 FP4, 2 cans of 400ft Double X, 1 can of 100ft Arista Edu 100, 200, and 400 respectively.
 
Just got a SMC-M Pentax 20mm f/4. One sweet little lens; a great performer. It is also tiny! Virtually a pancake lens, takes 49mm filters. When I think about how big an equivalent lens would be for digital, I'm glad to have my old MX's and my collection of tiny, light Pentax lenses.
Incidentally, I find it a pleasure to shoot with a 20mm on an SLR, and appreciate the extreme perspective and "alternate" way of seeing it provides. But I find it impossible to use anything wider than a 28mm on a rangefinder. It just won't work for me! Does anyone else find this to be the case?

Many thanks Erik - I got the camera and lens for what I think is a very good price. I’m not sure how much ‘value’ is added to the camera with the ‘S-T’ engraving, as I’ve seen prices all over the place for them. Having said that, I’m a bit surprised that the seller didn’t notice the engraving. I hope to run a roll of film through it this weekend.

I have known the existence of the S-T Leicas for a long time, but I never knew that the "T" stood for Tiranty. Tiranty was the importer of Leitz in France; Cartier-Bresson always got his cameras from him. Perhaps the S-T engraving has to do with tax regulations. In the past you were not allowed to just take your camera abroad in Europe because of the loss of tax money if you sold the camera abroad. I myself have a Dutch proof of purchase of a Leica from the early 1930s that served the same purpose.

I fell for this Leidolf Wetzlar Lordox Junior, probably from 1957. It has been serviced recently and everything seems to be in order. These are very well built and a joy to handle.
