What have you just BOUGHT?

Got this on clearance from Adorama as it has a little bit of haze inside.

Hoping I can open it up and clean it out. If so it will be a fantastic deal compared to what this lens still sells for.

It actually looks clear straight through but if you look at a light you can see the dust/haze. Supposed to be a great portrait lens.

It is large.

I have bought 10 rolls of Adox HR-50. Great film, especially when the weather is good, and with a red filter. Plus some Fotoimpex Easy Print RC paper 34x30 cm for contact sheets.

The last lens I bought was an ebay bargain. A Jupiter-9 LTM for my Canon 7s. The focus seems to fit, maybe it has been adjusted to Leica standard by the former owner. It is very sharp when stepped down a little bit. I like it very much.

I just bought a used Pentax Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 24mm f3.5 (M42 mount) lens. It came with the (super cool) square metal hood and front & rear caps. The lens is in mint condition, the hood shows some wear.

I walked into the camera shop today and noticed it in the used SLR manual lens section; actually I noticed the big square hood on it first, then read the tag that said it was a Pentax 24mm lens. I have a Rayqual Sony E-mount / M42 lens mount adapter already . I plan to test it out tomorrow on my A7III.

Fotodiox adapter arrived today. Bronica S to Nikon F and then I used a Nikon F to Leica L adapter. Was curious how the Bronica lenses would do this way. Shame they don't make this as a shift adapter though. Might not be able to with how deep the helicoid is.

I've been using a Wotancraft 3.5L & 7L Pilot daily for sometime and was looking at the 18L pilot backpack as my next bag purchase, but after a bit of research I ended up getting a Tenba Fulton 16L backpack and very happy with it. The color is close to my Wotancraft and added one of there pouches to it.

Carries my M10 with a lens mounted and 2 other Voigtlander lenses, my wife's Olympus E-M10 II with the 14-150mm lens mounted. Also my DJI Mini 3 Pro drone with RC controller along 3 batteries and that's all in the camera compartment with more room above for personnel items/food in the upper area.

Ordered but not yet received: Nikon version of the Voigtlander 40mm ƒ/2 Ultron SL. Pancake. The first model. The one with chrome rim and no contacts to the camera's electronics. And, truthfully, I know exactly zero about this particular lens since it has apparently been forgotten on the internet. There's lots of info on the subsequent models but it's pretty dead concerning this one. Most sources say the optics are the same in all the models with only external changes but even those sources are at odds over the image quality. Some complain of softness, others claim "tack sharp" so flip a coin, cross my fingers and hope for the best.
 
The Voigtländer Vitessa I bought from an Ebay seller arrived a couple of days ago. It's a lovely thing ... of course, it needs a thorough service and cleaning. Here is it next to one of my Kodak Retina IIc cameras:

I've also found a Voigtländer Kontur 24x36 accessory viewfinder and an original Voigtländer 125/20 lens hood for it. They're both on the way.

The Vitessa will go out for service tomorrow, likely back in a month or so. 😉

I had one in Pentax mount. Quite sharp! Not much "character", whatever the hell that means... Just a sharp, well-made, and very useful lens.

Good luck with it, they are nice cameras. I've had several of them. Still have one with an Ultron but I need to align the rangefinder. A prior owner glued the adjustment screws in place so need to clean that out before I can align it.

Thanks. That's encouraging. I was really interested in it because I've been using an adapted 28/2 Ultron M-mount on my X-Pros and I've come to really love the 42mm equivalent focal length.
 
XCD 21 f/4 X Hass lens for X2D but the IQ is worth the reasonable price from a Swedish dealer, w/only 52 shots, never used. Couldn't find one anywhere for sale & in just a few days trying/printing can see why. Easily repeatable to shoot/repeat fine hyperfocal shots (everything in focus) using the distance scale around infinity mark (with alot of room for slight changes using H/F distance of 12ft-17ft at f/8 headroom) even though fly-by-wire. Have sold almost everything else trying to get to "one camera" in meantime. lol

This week I bought a Nikon DR-5 right-angle finder. I was going to return it as it never tightened up properly when screwing it in, and it seemed to start to unscrew too much with just a small turn to the left, but it now doesn't seem that bad.

Well, the surprise to me was that when this little pancake came in, it turned out to be the SL II version in near mint condition. Price was excellent for this version in this condition. I'm pleased. Did a few shots of the dog that look good and sharp. Pleasant grey tones, nice contrast. It's kinda tight and hard to remove from the camera due to arthritis in my right thumb but it's probably gonna stay on it for a while anyway. I'm not fond of the lens hood but I seldom use hoods at all. I like the focal length. I like the lens.
