What have you just BOUGHT?

Hmmm. My wall decor, visible when I'm on a video call ...

Love those little Saabs on the bottom, Godfrey!

Very early production Canon FD 55/f1.2 white face lens (date code "K1200 for December 1970). Close to a match for my April '71 F1.

I read that all early FD lenses had "Spectra" coating and were marked "SC". This lens is not marked as such, so does anyone know if such an early lens would have that coating and be un-marked, or would be coated the same as the previous FL lenses were?

The 96 V4 was my favorite, too, though I don't think I ever even got to sit in one!
Do you know if Erik Carlson (sp?) ever ice-raced the V4s?

- Murray

I don't know for sure, but Erik Caarlson's time period was the SAAB 850 Montecarlo, the two-stroke triple. The V4 (a Ford 1.7L engine that debuted in their Taurus, IIRC) was heavier, a bit torquier down low, but didn't rev as well. The 850 Montecarlo and the 96 V4 were produced side-by-side for a short time.

My 1:43 scale SAAB row includes the earliest prototype sedan, the 850 rally car (typo 92?), and the 96 V4, alongside the Sonnett I (850 two stroke), Sonnet II (1.7L V4, shift on the column), and Sonnett III (V4 again, but with a floor mounted shift). Had the Sonnett II for a short time; I always wanted a Sonnett III (... and a friend has one that he hasn't touched in years, and his wife wants me to nab and take home ... but getting it to California will be expensive, I don't have enough p arking or shop space for it, and it will need a lot of restoration work. Sigh. One can only afford so much...).

Delivered last night and made by a friend, my ABS 3D printed SX-70 filter adapter, helps with using more commonly available 600 film with an ND filter among other possibilities. Just waiting for the 27>37mm Step up adapter.

I have something very similar to this but with the 37mm threaded mount built in. It helps to expand your options when shooting B&W film (green, orange, yellow, red filters) and fit ND or polarizers for color. Fitted on a Polaroid SLR670x by MiNT nets the capability with an SX-70 type camera to have near-complete control of exposure and flash capabilities. :)

Dear board,

Definitely not photographic but certainly photogenic. I finally bought a new to me but used and well cared for 4WD pick-up. I had a weekend vehicle that was 4WD but it wasn't a pick-up and hauling mulch or topsoil was a chore. This will make the honey-do list easier to accomplish and be much better suited to my needs. ;)
