Bigger (and louder!) than the Spotmatics. Excellent cameras, whether or not the meter is working. The T3 is the pick of the bunch I think, though in another recent thread others were expressing their preference for the FT-1 (electronic with built-in winder).

The T3 that's pictured looks like it has an older Hexanon, like a 52/1.8.
 
This week I bought a Yashica B30 lens hood to replace my Rollei lens hood which is a bit too small for my Yashica 635. I really thought I'd have no trouble. Unfortunately, I didn't check it before trying to fit it so I don't know whether there was anything obviously wrong with it to start off with. Anyway, it was a rather tight fit and quite hard to turn so the top of the front was horizontal, so I tried to take it off and it was turning the filter. I did manage to take it off ad re-try just to see if I was doing it incorrectly. After several goes I thought maybe the Rollei filter was a bit too big for it so I tried it with a Hoya Sky 1A and there was still a bit of trouble so I decided to remove the hood and again the filter turned, but this time the filter came off stuck inside the lens hood. So now I'll have to send both to the place I bought the hood from and hope they can get the filter out and be able to test the hood on other Bay 1 cameras. I was a bit hevy handed with it, so I'm not sure if I can even ask them for a replacement, although if they can, I'd be happy to give them the Rollei hood.
 
Photographing Shadow and Light: . . . by Joey L(awrence) whose recent book, Ethiopia, just impressed me greatly. His earlier We Came from Fire is on my wishlist but way expensive, out of print and bound in unobtanium. His composition and lighting are amazing to me. If you are even halfway interested he has videos on his YT website. He makes me a believer in posed, arranged shots. This is him looking at his book Ethiopia, deluxe edition.

I wandered into Jupiter territory by reading posts by users on RFF. They can be very good. I have the 25, 50, 85 and 135 and they are all good lenses. Luck of the draw, I guess. But I hang around in the 40 - 50 zone mostly., The 85 is not quite right on an M body. But sharp and good color. I have a new 50 coming tomorrow, a Eureka that I will be trying out. Good reviews, good images posted. I'll try to do well with it.
 
I didn't have any filters in 43mm size, so I found a lightly used pack of Urth filters on eBay.

Circular polarizer, UV filter, 10-stop neutral density, and 4-stop neutral density.

The filters are magnetic, so you just screw the filter holder onto the front threads on the lens, and then the filters themselves simply pop on and off of the holder. This makes it really easy to use the CPL filter without needing to unscrew it to check that it's set correctly. Just pop it off of the lens, hold it in front of the viewfinder and rotate until the desired look is achieved, and then pop it back onto the lens.

I imagine I will use the 4-stop ND filter often as well, especially when I want narrow DOF in bright sunlight. During my last trip to Laos, I used a variable ND filter on my 50mm f/1.2 and it gave me a lot of creative control.

Bought a Canon 85mm F2 LTM for a good price due to having fungus, price was good and I guess I wanted a challenge and a challenge it was. The fungus was the easiest part to clean up, but getting that lens back together and focusing to infinity was a pain. Can't wait to use it now that it focuses to infinity. This guide was great Canon Serenar 85mm f/2.0 Clean, Lubricate, Adjust (CLA)
Stupid me didn't take the hint that Canon had little marks where all the grub screws go and yeah for a while it just would not focus to infinity.
 
Just arrived, another eBay deal. A new Elcan from a Japanese dealer. I'll be out testing it later this afternoon or evening. I am expecting other deliveries today. Just this bit of info on size, it is smaller than my Canon 28mm f/2.8 by a gnat's whisker. Initial impressions are that it is well-made and takes a good picture. More shooting to come.

If we get tariffs imposed we will see these prices go up. I can think of no domestic photography supplier, lenses or cameras.

Based on my previous work experience in international trade, I'd say that there may be a chance that eBay sales via Japan are unaffected, because (1) relations with Japan are important to the US vis-a-vis China, (2) Japan is a major source of manufacturing investment in the United States, and (3) the CBP de minimis rule for e-commerce items may fly under the new administration's radar. This allows imported online purchases such as eBay to avoid tariffs as long as the declared value is under 800 USD.

I think it's a 1950 Rolleiflex 3.5 X Synch if I'm reading the serial number correctly. First TLR. Loaded some Ilford FP4 in it this afternoon. Hopefully I can shoot this roll over the next couple of days.

I am scrambling to get my Pentax limited selection purchased before 1/20/25 for obvious reasons.
