What have you just BOUGHT?

I guess I understand.....I guess 🤔

Actually I also recently sold off a very large proportion of my collection.... about 1.5 years ago and I haven't yet regretted it.....much. I also kept the Leicas and RF Canons. Just a couple Nikon SLRs/lenses and a couple 4x5 kits. Sounds like a lot? Apparently I had about 500 cameras before the purge 😮.

Can't wait to see what photo adventure next grabs your attention!
Funny thing is I am building up; mostly spares or repair Barnacks (always to repair, I would never strip a complete Barnack), with the intention of not hitting a vacuum when retirement (or one of the two alternatives) arrives. My problem is in not documenting things in case of the other alternative.

Seems a good buy! I tend to look for used dentist gear; I have been lucky!
Pretty happy with them both, we were late so missed a lot, saw a couple of niceish Box Brownies and 2 old Halina Compacts, one with film still in it but didn't feel like it this time as not really for me.

Fuji arrived, smaller than I was expecting. About the width and depth on a Minolta 7S but the top plate of the Fuji taller.

It is in great shape, still has plastic wrap on bottom plate.

I think the 'rattle' is just the 'T' button moving around a bit. Shutter cocked and touching it lightly and the noise goes away. Lens looks clean, viewfinder is very clear, focus is smooth (and has click stops at 2 and 5 meters), aperture adjusts smoothly, the shutter dial is a little stiffer. The main issue is the meter isn't working properly, it just always shows '-' no matter what I set. Don't know if maybe the coupling to the shutter/aperture is disconnected or if something else is going on there.

Frank Marshman still works on these and his overhaul price is good. Everything else is too nice for me to mess with it so it will be on the way to him shortly.

That's a lot of cameras. 🤯

It was. Less than 50 now. Still too many?

There are just some that I can't (yet) let go of.

I should say that of that 500 count, only about 100-200 were "nice" cameras by RFF standards.

I feel a lot lighter now and spent little time filling up all that free room....I have other hobbies 😕

Got any photos or lists of those departed items? Years ago, I started taking photographic notes of things I was unloading, and looking back at them from a distance of months or years, I'm astounded by how much stuff I had, and how important they seemed at the time, but also how quickly I forgot about them after they were gone.

Looks good!

Frank did a complete service on my GS645S Wide 60 when I got it a few years back. It's flawless now.
You inspire me to load it up and take it for a walk ... :D

A pre-Winogranded pre-War barnack pressure plate.

To replace this one!

Why someone would do that to a defenceless Leica II I don’t know. Someone had obviously put it on B (Z) and just hacked at it. I would be interested in any other theories.
