What have you just BOUGHT?

I am about to buy from Squarehood a hood for my Leica 35mm Summilux Pre-A v2. Users of this fine lens will agree the 12504 round hood which holds a Series VII filter is a horrible design and obstructs handling of the lens. One solution which necessitates cutting and modding an expensive 35mm Summicron v4 rectangular hood is not good because it vignettes. Squarehood while ships from Sweden sources the products from China. Import duty on a $125 item should not be a deal breaker I don’t know if FedEx will charge a service fee for collecting the tax. They can charge anything they want can’t they? Anyone has any very recent experience?

The 12405 hood "suck big"?? 🤔
Been using it for years. Works perfectly. What's wrong with it?

I know they're a little expensive and sometimes a touch difficult to find in good condition, but they work very well.

Two Texas Leicas: a GW690III and a GSW690II. Both in great condition. I added K&F Concept 67mm Magnetic UV Filter/Lens Covers to them. I've run one roll of B&W through the GW690III and the negatives are yuge! I've also run a roll of yet undeveloped B&W through the GSW and am nearly done with a roll of Ektar. I'll try to post some images once I get set up with a 6x9 film holder for my camera scanning rig...or maybe I'll break out the Epson V700. I know the plastic exterior on the GW690III is just a skin over a metal body, but I more enjoy handling and using the GSW690II, purely from a haptic perspective. The GW690III just feels a little too toy-like, even though I know it's anything but.

Haven't been shopping cameras for a while, but all of a sudden there were so many goodies that I couldn't resist. First there was the Contax D with a Tessar 2.8/50 and a KMZ Jupiter-11 (LTM converted to M42).

Then I found a Werra 3 with all three lenses (Tessar 2.8/50, Flektogon 2.8/35 and Cardinar 4/100).

And finally a Voigtländer VSL 1 with a Super-Takumar 1.4/50.

Best of all, I didn't spend a lot of money.
