What is in your kit?

I use mostly:
-Leica M2, M4-P. 35 & 50 Summicrons
-Nikon F2, F3hp. 24, 50 50-135, 300mm.
-Hasselblad 501cm 80, 150mm. Hassleblad SWC.

Then the nice little iiif Barnack and a big fat old Nikon F4s.

Kit 1 - Working Man Journalism. The ready to do anything kit. Nikon DSLR
17-35 f2.8
50mm f1.4
35mm f1.8
80-200 f2.8
Nikon D300 or D2x
Sb900, Sb800, SC-17 sync cord
77mm polarizer, various other supplies

Kit 2 Like a Leica.
M3 or M6 TTL .85
50mm collapsible summicron
90mm summicron or elmar
35mm summaron or Voigtlander 2.5

Kit 3 Medium Format King
Rolleiflex MX-EVS or Hasselblad 500cm with 80mm Planar and a couple of film backs. Minolta Autometer III or an old selenium agfa that works great

Back up film kit - I keep the nikons around because I have a lot of great lenses and sentimental reasons.
Nikon fm2n x2
Nikon F100
variety of MF lenses from 24mm to 300mm

Recently I've been going:

Canon IVSB
Canon 35mm 2.8 w/ Russian 35mm finder
Jupiter 3, Yashinon 50mm 1.8 if I'm less worried about low light
120 folder
An old Gossen Pilot meter
40.5mm hood, possibly filters
4 rolls of film in addition to whatever is loaded.

The folder is a bit redundant given the 50 but I enjoy using them. I may try restricting 35mm to wide/long shots and keeping the 50mm MF only if I'm going light.

...or...

Autocord
Hood

...or...

Canon IVSB
Industar 50

Depending on how minimal I want to go. I'll occasionally carry the a fixed lens rangefinder for automatic exposures if the lights changing too quickly but thats becoming less and less frequent over time. :)

For film my kit for this year is a Leicaflex SL2 with 35, 50 and 90.
For digital it's the D700, 24-70, 70-200 and sb flashgun.
The M's and film Nikons are taking a rest.

Sorry to read of your fall. Now Helen, that's no way to start the new year! All hurting and sitting in the emergency room. Ugh . Now try to heal up fast as you can. we'll send up a prayer for you.

I have way too much crap but my "main kits" that actually get used regularly are:

#1- Nikon
D300
F6
24-70mm
70-200mm
45mm P

#2 Leica
M8
M5
50mm C-Sonnar
50mm 'Cron
35mm 'Cron

I might actually start reducing the inventory to approach actually having only these items. Somewhat freeing to see a nice tidy list. ;)

Get well soon Helen!

RF: Settling on M4 & CLE with a set of converted Contax Gs.

Fuji GA645 or GA645zi for medium format...currently doing a shoot out between the two, will keep the winner. Contax 645 going up for sale.

On the fence regarding my Contax SLRs...28/2, 50/1.4, 100/2

NEX 5. iPhone 4s

Hope you recover soon Helen!

1. M2 with DR Summicron 50mm; M2 with Elmar M 50mm f/2.8 and (Summar 5cm f/2 on stand by), Ilford Delta Pro 400

2. R7 with 24mm f/2.8, 50mm 1.4, 50mm f/2 ,80mm f/1.4; Leica X1

3. Rolleicord Va 75mm f/3.5, Ilford Delta Pro 100; Lomo LC-A

Camel Active (customized) Messenger Bag

1. Small crumpler bag with M6 + 35mm cron v3 and 50mm f1.5 Nokton and also a NEX-5n and 18-55 (awaiting adaptor!) along with a bunch of film (currently going trough my last 2 rolls of Ektar- no more colour for me!).

2. One of two bags (Tenba Messenger Mini or Slingshot 302AW) and a Canon 7D and a bunch of lenses. Too heavy and the high ISO performance is noticably poorer than the NEX!

My kit consists of whatever I feel like shooting on a particular day. My collection of cameras is well into the triple digits now. For the past week I have simplified by sticking with my Rolleiflex.

Geee, some of you can display more camera gear than most local photostores here in Norway!

My stuff: a chrome M9-P and a Summicron 50 mm Canada. Tomorrow I'm getting an Elmarit 24 ASPH in addition. Done!

I normally only bring one camera with me on my daily travels, usually M3 with either summarit 1.5 or summitar or Leica II with summar. At nights I'm partial to my M7 with rapidwinder and 35mm Nokton II or 21mm Elmarit.

If I'm going somewhere for an extended period or for a job, it's either a combination of the above and/or my M9 with 50mm ASPH or 35mmm cron, XPan with 45 and 90mm or 7D with 17-40, 24mm 1.4, 50mm R Cron and 70-300DO.

Writing this made me realise that I rarely bust out my 500c or Rolleicord... Hmmm... Maybe I should shoot some 6x6 this week...

My god, sorry to hear that Helen. Hope you recover quickly.

Right now, I use a Leica M9 with 35mm C-Biogon, 50mm Summarit 2.5 and 50mm CV Heliar Classic f2 plus a Fuji X100 and a Nikon F2 w/ 45mm 2.8p. Most of the time, I just grab one and don't bother with the bag.
